I've just noticed when washing the car that water stays stuck in the seam between the the steel body and the plastic lower body panels for quite a long time. So I squeeze the chamois in there and suck it all out.

I hope that doesn't ruin the kickplate

Default Truck lid holds water

I have noticed that after I wash and throughly dry the 350 and then open the back hatch, a large amount of water runs down from somewhere in the area of the top hatch lid.

It has also been reported that some 350Zs were not properly painted in that area of the top back deck lids and that rust has forms. Just be aware.

Just did a search and found this post. I was disturbed to find the same thing happen. Quite a bit of water was on the kickplate when I opened the passenger door after a heavy rain. I can't believe this was "planned" to happen and am curious to see what happens when it drops below freezing...

I have also had the problem of water coming from "somewhere" on the rear hatch after I wash my car and start to wax it. When buffing the wax out I kept on getting "water trails" from the bottom seal of the hatch window. Pretty frustrating.

Default me too

yep I got a these same little glitches "as we say in the software industry".

The door glitch is because the bottom portion of the door is carved. It forces you to clean the door sills properly, so that's not a major pain.

The drip that comes out of nowhere after you think you have your car completely dry or freshly waxed is a major pain.

Buy a bottle of detail spray and learn to live with it

I always open the hatch and dry that area as well after a washing. This was a minor issue on my previous Z32. Just when you think its all dry you get the water running down the sides. Just pop the hatch and dry that as well and you should be good.

If you are as screwed up as I am when I'm finished washing my car, not yet the 350, I break out the air compressor with the air gun to get to all those nooks and crannies that like to hold on to water. Sure it pisses off the neighbors but hey, it's my car we're talking about.

I notice some water near the kick plate area and the hatch area. but I examine the design, and you can see where the seal is, and it works perfectly, no water past the seal. where the water is, for all intents purpose is outside, in no way was it designed to be water tight. tho freezing is a consideration, sure glad I live in GA. we get alot more than 10 days of rain, but we dont get much frost so Ill be ok.

Default For such a small car...

I spend more time on my Z than I do my Ram club cab. But its worth the look it has after. Yes there are drips.. from the rear window seal area and from the weep holes in the doors. I havent noticed any water entering the vehicle proper... I do open everything up..including the gas door to wipe all the little runs away. No biggie.. lets me keep my hands on my Z more...

Had the 3M put on a week ago.. so time to wax again and see how it looks..
