Blind Spot Mirrors
Because of a blind spot you might find yourself changing lanes with someone already there or leaning up in your seat to fully check you mirror before changing lanes - which is much too much
exercise for me. I installed little convex mirrors which you can get at any auto store so as to prevent an accident and maintain my beer gut.

I was thinking about doing the same thing once I get the car. I haven't seen the blindspot yet, but I could tell by those tiny quarter windows that the car must have lousy blindspots. I love how eloquently and honestly you state your reasoning. lol
what about those old "Wink" mirrors...the long, 5-panel mirrors that extend across the top of the windshield and give you a panoramic view? Do they still make those? Haven't seen anyone using one in years.
I had one on a car years ago and it was a little distracting, but it definitely eliminated blind spots.

Make sure you are positioning your side mirrors properly.
To position the left mirror, place your head against the door glass and then adjust the mirror so you can just see the side of the car in the mirror.
To adjust the right mirror, lean over to the center of the car as far as possible and adjust the mirror so you can just see the side of the car in the mirror.
This method helps minimize, if not eliminate, blind spots.
As a car moves out of the view of your rear view mirror, they move into the view of the side mirror and as they move out of the side mirror, they move into your peripheral vision.
With the narrow view out the rear of the Z, though, you might still end up with a bit of a blind spot.

Here's another option...I own an S2000 which has a nice blind spot w/ the top up. What some of us has done is purchase from a vendor in Australia, the left side mirror for a right hand drive car. Just like the USDM passenger side mirror, the JDM left side mirror is convex so it gives a wider view. Here's a link to better explain it: http://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthrea...threadid=65754
Might be worth while to look into that for the Z. It worked great on the S2000.
BTW, I'm not trolling for trouble here....I am a big fan of the Z and Nissans in general (I own a fairly modded out P10, a.k.a. Infiniti G20)

The little mirrors have an adhesive back and just
peel and stick". They should be removable. I should add I like to
lean WAY back in my seat (like a pimp) which makes the blind spot worse. Hmmm..I wonder how a Z would look with a "diamond in the back" and huge white walls? Nah - better leave it stock.
