New Car Mileage: Virgin vs. Demo
Just because a "new" car has "some" miles (say over 50 but less than 200) doesnt't mean it was a demo or a test car. Dealers often trade cars. If one dealer has a customer who wants a blue car but he only has a silver and there's another dealer not too far away who has the exact car the first dealer's customer wants then the dealers sometimes work out a trade. These cars are not trucked to their new location but are driven. Hence the miles on the odometer. Personally I wouldn't buy one of these cars either because you just don't know if the dealers explanation for the extra miles is due to a trade or it was actually used as a demo and even it was a trade you don't how the car was driven in its delivery.
