Default What to do about extend warranties and other dealer extras???

going to the dealer to sign all the paper work at the end of the week for the z. all the price and trade in values have been decided on. the dealer has hinted at other things i could add on when go to sign the final form like extended warranty, some other sorts of packages. nothing that i have to have. just any help on if its all bull or might some of it be worth it. your experiences would be a major help. (first time buying a brand new car)

If you plan on keeping your car the warranty is good, if you can talk them down in price. Everything else they try and sell you is smoke. Dont fall for scotch gaurd, etc. Check the contract and make sure there is nothing "extra" you dont know about.

Think about how long you plan on driving this car and you might wanna consider the extended warranty. I have no clue how far Nissan will extend their warranty, but some aftermarket warranties will go up to 75,000 or even 100,000 miles.

I think everything else they might add on is probably in an attempt to pad the price. Probably nothing is worthwhile and can be done for cheaper elsewhere.

what is going to happen is that you are going to be presented a "menu" to chose packages from. they are going to try to hit you with everything from extended warrenties to credit/lift/disability insurance. they are also going to tell you what your payment is going to be with ALL of these options, but they wont tell you that the options are in there. so when you say you dont want the options your payment wont drop as much as it should.

i always buy warrenties, they are worth it IMO. the other stuff is BS. make sure before you start talking about "products" that you know what your monthly payment is WITHOUT the stuff. get him to write it down.

youll be alright, just dont fall for the speeches. and dont tell them i told you to!
