So when you get your car back, it's covered in puke?

Or how about the suggestion after that to give electric shocks or cauterizing blades to the back of the head. I'd hate to hear your alarm accidentally went off when you were getting in it!

The GPS System I have allows me to set a Geoperimiter fence where if the car leaves that area I immedaitly get phone calls on all my lines to let me know car has left that area. In addition, I can do real time tracking on the internet of the car and it will show me exactly where the car was during the last couple weeks. It's much better then locjack.

My friedns 1995 Toyota Celica was stolen form Oxford Wal Mart in broad daylight. Everybody saw it happen so the police were contacted imediatly. They ended up finding the car 4 hours later in Laurence, Mass totaly stripped with a few other cars. Yeah LoJack got his car back but too late. What I think LoJack is good for is finding a group of stripped cars.

Lojack has a new early warning system that notifies you if your car moves. It comes with two key fobs, and notifies you if you car moves without one of them in the car. Anyone know any more about this?

Well I am installing low jack for theft prevention and like most of you I really do not want the car back if it gets stolen, but I do want to catch the M$%th#$ F#@$ers who stole it.

isnt there some kind of alarm that pages you when it goes off? or was that just on the tv show i saw.

For what it is worth. Progressive Insurance (#3 in the country) offers a miniscule discount for lojack. It was like a few bucks. In the words of the agent, we don't want those beaten cars back either. Costs more to make them right then to write off the loss!

I thought she was crazy until I read this post. Makes total sense.

FYI, they do not offer a defensive driving discount either. Now that one confused me.

Have you guys gotten discounts on these and how much.

PS- My insurance actually went down a few bucks from my '99 Passat. Agent said that VW parts are expensive for repairs and the exchange rate is better with Japan, making parts cheaper. Whodathunkit?

Does anyone know how well is the Lo-Jack device shielded from EM waves??? hmmmmm

A pretty strong EM <electro magnetic> Pulse should be able to KIIll lojack's internal circuitry if its poorly shielded.

just a thought...from someone who works in the communications area.

have a good one.

Id TOO prefer not to see my car again if it ever gets stolen.

Not for nothing, but who's insurance is going to cover the MSRP/tax/destination on a Z? And that is IF you can get it for MSRP. Don't most plans cover the current value of the car, i.e. less depreciation?

Plus consider the deductable and the fact you will have to get back on a waiting list for a few months.

Hmm, lojack is sounding a little better...
