Tint rear tail light?
So the Z is getting tinted on Friday and the guy said I should just have him put the tint over the rear brake light. I think he should go around it because the tail light lens is clear and looks cool. Anyone have pictures of theirs with the tint over it or cut around?

i was thinking about that also...he means when they tint the rear window, does he cut out around the 3rd break light ( "3rd eye" ) or does he tint the whole window which would put tint in front of the brake light.
if you search tint pics, you will see what he means.
i actually think it looks better without the cutout for the 3rd eye. you can still see it over the tints.

Hey bluebat, are the overlays something you put OVER the lights on the outsides? as in like a adhesive type of thing? or a thing you gotta open up your headlight for and then do it on the inside. just curious. the white Z with the front headlights black overlays looks sweet..

Tint on rear tail lights
Hey guys,
I bought a kit from www.Lamin-x.com and had great sucess with it. Was not to hard to work with, and seems to be very durable and takes the wax very well.

Definitely tint under the 3rd brake light. I made the tint shop redo mine after they forgot to do it the first time. I removed the light to make their job easier (and so they wouldn't screw up again) but I know others have been able to slide the tint underneath.

It probably all depends on how dark you're going for tint. If we're talking real dark (say 5-20), then the difference in the third brake light in comparison to the other two probably looks bad without a cutout. If we're talking 35, then you can probably tint over it.

my cars getting done as we speak...35 on sides 20 on rear, i told him to cover up the 3rd eye. i think it looks silly when the windows dark and then you have a strip of clear...just my opinion. im barely on my brakes either way!!
