Default trunk not working right

my trunk doesnt open in one try, i have to pop it open, lift it up a bit, and then press the button again, is this happening to everyone or just me

It happened to me but suddenly it has gone away. I read somewhere that there's a fix for that, I think there may have been some kind of springs involved, can't reallly remember. I also read somewhere that warmer weather will make it work like it's supposed to and colder the opposite...

It's a very widespread problem. I had it fixed, only to have it reoccur a day after the dealer fixed it.

There is a new TSB on this problem where they actually replace the spring kit. Just do a search and you'll find it....


Actually I have the TSB number here: NT04-042 Spring Kit. My dealer ordered the parts and said it would be a couple of weeks.

Ditto! I don't know what the TSB number is, but just had mine replaced last week. You could tell the difference in how it worked right after the fix.

Stiffer springs or what? Mine works about 70% of the time. Never works in cold. I usually just help it up with my hand. I hate taking my car to the dealer to get fixed, unless it is something major.

yes, stiffer springs. One guy reported that now his lid jumps up about 6 inches!
