Default why do test times vary so much?

I seen that the g35 sedan get a 6.2 to 60 in road and track.
Then It got a 7.1 in car and driver??

Also the g35coupe got a 60 time of 6.1...... now how can a 6 speed with 20 more horses get about the same time.

This is very confussing because you really dont know what your car is faster than until you race sombody after you get one.

Not that I race,, very little at all but i would like to know my car is faster than the next guys in my class.

What are some of your thoughts on this?

Part of it has to do with the driver, and also car motors vary, even though they're supposed to the same. You can have two identical engines dyno at significantly different hp.

Just hope you get lucky and get an unusually strong motor!!

Other things have to do with engine set up, heads, etc. but that actually gets into tuning the motor differently.

Hope I helped!

There are several things that can cause different times. I mean if you ever watch the IROC races, these cars are supposedly built to all the same specs so then why are some faster or slower.

1. Track condition
2. Driver
3. Engine (not all identical hp)
4. Ambient temperature
5. Tire pressure
6. Launch rpm

Get the drift?

R&D's track goes downhill a bit, which results in faster times.
