Anyone else pissed at getting a touring?
I looked at a Daytona Blue Touring 6-speed tonight (only 350Z I can find on the floor in the area). I actually really liked the factory leather. I don't think I'd be nearly as happy with fitted leather. I really liked the orangish-yellow stitching.
I just don't want to pay for a Bose stereo that I'm going to replace anyways
Can you attach a normal line level converter to the Bose head unit or does it's propriatery design prevent that?

Performance also has the auto-dimming mirror. I didn't get touring because I don't need power seats (only need to adjust the seat once), don't want leather (too hot/cold and slippery, and if I change my mind they can be put on later), don't need heated seats if they're not leather, don't need heated mirrors (mine have never fogged up), so the only reason to get it was the Bose. And that has turned out to be a big problem, so I'm glad I didn't get it. Yes, the 6-disc in-dash changer would have been nice, but that alone is certainly not worth the extra price for Touring!
I downgraded from touring to enthusiast and to this day im glad I made that change.Only thing I truly really wanted was leather seats and Ill probably get them put in when my z arrives.

Thanks. I needed to hear this good review. My Touring is due and the end of this month. I cannot wait. I prefer a factory leather seat package. The Bose, when I heard it at the dealership in another Z, sounded MUCH MUCH better than my Toyota Tacoma stock stereo. I, too, will be happy with my decision.
Thanks,
Todd

Toddluc, the Bose stereo is horrible when you are actually driving the car and it starts its auto-leveling crap. Sorry man... Also, the leather is EXACTLY the same from the dealership as compared to the factory leather, I had the chance when taking delivery to compare my car with another one w/ the dealer two-tone leather 1000 dollar option.

As far as leather, I am glad to hear the dealer option is the same leather.
I am still thrilled I got the Touring Z. (okay, getting, not got
) I want the heated seats and mirrors.
I've been thinking about my Touring order. It's due in November /December - I assume it's too late to change.
Point by point:
1. I wont drive it in the winter so the heated seats and mirrors are useless to me.
2. The Bose sucks and I'll end up replacing it anyway. Of course I would be replacing the stereo on any of the other models too so thats no big penalty.
3. I prefer the Track wheels now that I've actually seen them on real cars - I simply couldnt tell if I'd like them when I ordered in May and I really wanted leather instead of fabric seats.
4. Now I find out I can order two tone leather from the dealer for a grand.
The only thing about the Touring I Really like is the electric drivers seat adjustment.
I definitely wish I'd ordered the Track. As it stands I'll just have to add the Rays after the car arrives and it looks like that's gonna cost $2,500.
Oh well.....

WRONG WRONG WRONG.....
I owned a Red Camaro. Highly modded engine. Load exhaust. Drove it with a heavy foot. Got pulled over and harrassed or ticketed way too often.
Then I painted it black and didn't get pulled over for the next 3 years that I owned the car! Same car. Same driving style. Same town. Same attitude. The only change was the color of the car.
I really know I chose the right color combination for me when I was able to see the other Brickyards at Tako's party. I have the same problem with the AM/FM part with base and volume control but the CD player is fine and very crisp. But the rest of the tourig package really sets off this color and interior combination.
Hey ZBarrister nice meeting you at the party. Hell of a Zano job. Hope I can achieve the same shine with mine.

It's 5 days old now, Touring, At (I know), CS and it has +1400 miles on it. MT mode is crisp in traffic and for driving around town, on the road it wants to run like a new born colt. I noticed a few strange sounds in the speakers, again like everyone else I'll wait for the fix (hope it comes). I did notice on cruise that it dropped a mile when on an upgrade, but picked it up a bit later. No real complaints.
I am pleased with getting the Touring Brickyard, especially with the 6 cd changer in the dash, the leather, & the power seats. Like I mentioned in another thread, if I would have changed the stereo from the factory one I am looking at at least $2000 for the head unit with the screen that comes out, about another $600.00 for a good amp, speakers, probably at least $500.00- $800.00 then I probably would have had to add a CD changer for at leat $300.00, & then factor in the leather minus power -minus toaster seats. When all I did was add an amplified Bazooka tube for under $600.00..
You do the math, its making my head hurt..

The touring is the way to go. I dont want a/m leather, as far as color goes just wait till you need some paint work done. The black and redline wont be to bad to match , but the rest, well good luck
Pissed drunk out of my mind.
I love this car! I too have been beaten up by all my friends and fellow board members alike for getting the AT. The good news is I have no regrets moving from a MT to an AT. I only have a little over a 1000 miles. Just a little more to go and then the fun really begins! -m
I love my super black 6mt with charcoal interior. The BOSE fix is on the way, so I'm not worried about the auto leveling. With the way I listen to music, loud, the leveling doesnt come into play much. Do I think I love it that much more than I would a performance or even a base right now? Probably not, but for the long run the touring has a stereo I like, and the leather seats are superb which makes for a better everyday car for me. I was torn between the performance and touring in January when I ordered, I stayed up most of the night before weighing the options of all the models against each other, in the end I went with the stereo as the deciding factor. As of right now, I think it's a great stereo, with a bit of a personality problem. And no, I would not consider an aftermarket stereo because of problems with the one in my previous car. Out of the box this car kicks major rear overall.
I like the car a lot.
The stereo does suck, but I still fully intend to get my money's worth out of that via Nissan's fix.
After living with the car for a while, I actually prefer the touring 18" wheels over the track wheels. I used to think the track wheels looked better, but I think the 18" wheels are less racerboy looking and better fitting to the overall car.
