Default Anyone else pissed at getting a touring?

Well, after the cars were released we found out that the dealership offered leather (Even two-tone styles), the bose stereo sucks, and the only real gain you get with the touring package is heated seats and electrochromatic mirrors. I really wish I got a performance.... While we're on this topic, I also wish I got a blue or redline, silver is definately the best color IMO but there are WAY too many...

Heh, I agree with lots that you posted. I had bought the touring because I wanted leather seats and I figured it'd be nice to have an upgraded radio, as I was pushing my cash limits and probably wouldn't have enough to put into something aftermarket.

Just before the car came, I found out that leather, in more color choices, would be available as a dealer option, and now, I've realized that the radio isn't all that hot.

I think I'll appreciate the heated seats in the winter, but I don't particularly like the autodimming mirror. All you end up seeing are floating lights, the outline of the cars disappears.

All in all, give the choice again, I would have gotten a track. The brakes and wheels are well worth the money. I would have then considered aftermarket leather.

Finally, I have a silver Z too, and yes, it's way too common. I didn't want black (too hard to keep), wasn't interested in white, brickyard or silverstone. The LMO is great, but I don't think I could live with an orange car forever. The DB and Redline are pretty cool....ah well, maybe I'll trade in for the convertible!

Not at all. I love the 18's that you get w/ the six speed. I LOVE the burnt orange leather, and don't think that aftermarket jobs lokas "tight" as OEM. The bose may not be good, but its perfectyly fine for me, and its better than the stock radio. I couldn't be happier I got a touring.

point50 and i were talking about the same thing last Sunday.
Considering the Bose problem and the availability of leather, my choice now would be the Track.

Thanks. I needed to hear this good review. My Touring is due and the end of this month. I cannot wait. I prefer a factory leather seat package. The Bose, when I heard it at the dealership in another Z, sounded MUCH MUCH better than my Toyota Tacoma stock stereo. I, too, will be happy with my decision.

Thanks,
Todd

I'm very pleased with my Touring. Yes, the Bose has a problem but there will be a fix for it.....soon I hope.

Even the 'official' leather kit does not look as good,(to me), as the factory installed.
Your BOSE can be fixed. Be patient.
Bun warmers, (in the Canal!!!) and mirrors are nice features.
Colours are so subjective...but the silver does look good...and will continue to look so after the other colours have collected their share of citations.
Arrest me red,
Bust be blue.

I have faith that Nissan will find a way to fix the Bose.

The exact reason that I bought the silver was that while it's a common color now, it's also a color I will always like, even 10 years from now. The DB, LMO, RL are much more immediately appealing, but I doubt the long term durability, at least for myself.

Well, I went through a very similar decision making process when I preordered my Z... I just made the EXACT OPPOSITE decision at every corner... couldn't be happier (Not offering Burnt Orange in the Redline was the clincher for me to ditch touring).

The belief that red cars get more tickets because of the color is just an old myth. Historically more sportscars are red than other colors and more cars that are red are sporty... it tends more to be people with heavy feet (who like going fast, and thus like sports cars..) who get the tickets.

Colors are most definitely subjective. I chose silver as a tribute to my old man's 240Z, but in truth, I would have picked it anyhow. Silver is a timeless color. I think in a few years I would have regretted getting some of the other colors.

Default AM I HAPPY-------> YOU BET YOUR BIPPY

Ok, so I may be an old guy but my Touring, Silverstone, Butterscotch (I like that better that Burnt Orange) Automatic is totally flawless. My old ears may not detect the problem in the stereo, but Nissan will fix that. The automatic on manual mode is crisp when pushed and a delight in commute traffic. Did a few 1/4 miles at PIR Wednesday night and it was right there time wise. First time at drag and turned 96.5MPH under 15 seconds. That's close enough for government work and certainly for an amateur. A little chlly this AM and the heated seats were very enjoyable. So don't be concerned about your decision, just be prepared to enjoy yourself.

On top of this, my understanding is that the 18" wheels make for a much choppier ride, and how much time do we spend on a glass smooth track anyway. The 17" wheels are super in the real world.

Keep on Z'n Jumpin' for Joy !

I have a silver performance Z and wish I preordered the Touring. After thinking about it I would like to have the leather with heated and power seats. Especially when I drive at night i like to open the window my wife gets cold, so the heated seats would have been a nice feature..

Plus i got side airbags so how would it work if changed my seats to leather aftermarket?

My Brickyard Touring is sweet (even schweeter after 4 coats of Zaino), my bose is sweet, all is sweet!!! I guess I got lucky.

Now, back to the regularly scheduled flames.

I am very happy with the Performance, it's only missing the leather seats and Bose. Did not think it was worth the extra $ and more so after hearing about the Bose issues and the heated seat button's so easily hit on accident.

I do wish the NAV was cheaper, I would have gotten it.

Silver looks great, easy to keep clean, yes very common.

I got a touring because it was the only model that had both auto and the nav. No other choice was available.

I got track because I didn't pre-order but got a pre-order backout. Just sent my dough today FedEx. It is supposed to arrive next week. I was going to get Touring for all of the reasons mentioned, except heated seats. I've had them in many cars and never used them after the first day. With all of the Bose problems, I think I'll be happy with the Track. The real issue for me was the leather, but I figure I can always use the carbon seats for a couple of years and get aftermarket later if I want.

if u'r going to get the burnt orange seat then the choice will be a no brainer, IMHO i don't like the feeling of getting aftermarket leather, i don't like them as not being stock~ and i think the stock leather had a nicer quality.(well it's my opinion)

It's strange that no body in here mentions about the 6-disc CD changer in-dash. That's the main reason i chose Touring plus leather and heated mirrors.
