Default Tinting problem because of those black dots on the rear windows, and back windsheild.

Does anyone else have this problem that the tint doesnt really go on the little black dots on the back two windows, and on the back window?? Its like practically a ring of non tints because the tint wont stick well to the dots for some reason. Is there anyone who does not have this problem? My tinter said it was normal and nothing you can do about it! ahhh

Also if there are little bubbles do i wait a few days to see if they leave, or call up right away and go over there?? Thanks....

p.s. i got 20's all around on my silverstone and it looks great except for the problem noted, and 3 tiny bubbles probobly not noticalbe from the outside, but i can see........

I had this problem on my old Integra...the guy who did the tinting said it probably won't go away. So I asked him why he didn't tell me that in the first place and he just shrugged, but shaved some of the cost away.

Right when he installed it the area it was messed up was very large, but after a few days it shrunk considerably, but never went away completely.

A good tint install will eliminate all of this. I had my Millenia done last year and there were bubbles. I went back in and got the installer out there. He spent another thirty minutes with it and got them all out. It was perfect. I don't know about the dots though. Good luck.

I just had my tints done last week and had absolutely no problems. the back window looks perfect. I had a few tiny bubles but the installer told me they would go away after the tints were totally dry. It has been a week and the tints are perfect.

Can you post pics of your Silverstone with the tint when you get a chance?

Thanks!

Those Dots are called MATRIX'S......
With a Good Tint Job....You Shouldnt Have A Problem...
But A Good Tint Shop will also ask you if you want to shave them level to the window, and that will also eleminate the problem....

If You Head Over To The 3rd Generation Eclipse Forums...
www.eclipseforums.org
They have many topics about this same deal.....

Cool Black Dots ---

I have never had long lasting luck when I had the Matrix dots tinted over. A good shop knows about them and will offer you some alternatives.

Good Luck.

It cost 175, yes they will fix the bubbles for free. But he said there is nothing to do for the "matrix" I saw this guys 96's maxima (the tinter) and his had the same thing he showed me, he said nothing to do about it. At night it will be fine but during the day it dont look great, for all those who dont have the problem, how is it sticking there????? I dont get it? Anything i can do? I dont think he will re-tint the whole thing esspecailly because i dont think it will make a difference!

Cool Matrix dots

The first time I ran into them was in 1997, on my Cobra.

I had them again in 99, another Cobra. These are not unique to the Z. I don't really know what they are there for.

I have seen tinters go around that section, very neatly and it doesn't look bad. Remember, that area is already somewhat darker than the rest of the window.
