Angry Went to the Nissan dealership today

Well heres some background first. I currently have a WRX and im looking to purchase either a G35c or a 350z. Ok heres the short version of the story. So i go to the Nissan dealership today to browse around and do some negotiating. I talk to a salesman for like 2 hours about price and finally we come to an agreement. Red '04 Touring 5spd auto, leather, aerokit, side airbags, splash guards. Sticker price was $33,700. We agreed to 34,100 out the door. So he goes to tell his manager about it. Ten minutes later the salesman comes back with the manager and the manager (biggest jerk in the damn world) tells me that he's not taking anything off the sticker and in fact will charge over sticker. I was like WTF? Then he fed me this BS that this car is the only one like it in the whole country. Then to top it off he basically kicked me out of the building after i said im not paying sticker price. This happend in Libertyville, IL at Liberty Nissan. If anyone is from this area, NEVER buy from them. They will rip you off.

What an *******. When negotiating, come to the dealer with all options, color, and trim of the Z you want with its dealer invoice (from www.kbb.com). Give them your price (be fair because they have to make a profit). If they don't accept, just leave and more likely than not, they'll come back to you. If they want to renegotiate, say no and give them your number. There are plenty of Nissan dealers with 15+ Zs on the lot they're dying to get rid of. By the way, you shouldn't be paying even MSRP anymore for the Z.

Before I got my 04 TRACK I had a 5AT Touring same as the one above,
I bought the car in Sept 03 when the 04's were hot and
I paid 32,000 for it.

I wouldnt pay over 1000 above invoice. There are deals out there.
You just came across an A-Hole Dealer.

Good Luck Z's an Awesome car for the Money.

If you guys are in the Chicago Area and you want to buy a Nissan. Call Thomas Nissan in Jolie, iL. (not thomas in Cal city)

Ask for Frank. Tell him "Omer" sent you from online. He will HOOK YOU UP.

That sucks. I get my G coupe serviced at Fields in Libertyville which is right across the street. I had no idea that the Nissan dealership was like that.

luvmyG35, consider yourself lucky that you didn't overpay. Not sure what your 34.1K number includes (hopefully TTL). Let us know the car purchase price w/o TTL.

I heard the same story from the first dealership I went to, they told me that there weren't any base models being brought into the States because everyone was buying Touring and Track models, but for some reason there was one in MA or something crazy like that and it would only be $500 a month. I look at the guy in disbelief, tell him that it's way too much, and he starts yelling at me. I had no choice but to tell him to go F$%k himself and walked out. So I just went to another dealership and ended up getting a used Touring with 8k miles for the same price as a new base, and my montly payments are way under $500 a month.
Of course I had to go by the first dealership and see if they had the "Z" license plate frames, laughed at the salesman and walked out.

Thats what i plan on doing. After i purchase my G35 coupe or 350Z, im going straight to that dealership and im gonna start gloating and laughing. Im not the type of person who would do something like this but they pissed me off SO MUCH that i just can't help myself.

I think we should all call that dealership and ask to talk to that manager.

"So I hear you guys have the only redline 350Z in the country"

I was like WTF?

i can only agree more. I know our cars are hot, but after two years now there should not be a single person out there that pays over sticker for this car. Its not that exclusive anymore.

Man do I feel lucky, I must have the only other Redline touring 5AT, I got mine in October of last year. Used, 10k miles on her, got it not only at a used price but also worked the dealer down another 3 thousand dollars. Other than the feathering, havent had a problem with her yet, so its no lemon. (in my opinion, the feathering doesnt classify it as a lemon.)
