GRM says 350Z lacks soul...
Has anyone read the article in the latest Grass Roots Motorsports issue comparing the 240Z to the 350Z? Basically, they think that although the new car is way better to really drive, the older car offered more soul and would leave the driver with "a dusty grin".
I think they are right and that the developement of sports cars has gone to the wayside a bit. I wish that cars were lighter, had more comunicative steering feedback and were just a little more raw.

can you really have a mass produced car with "soul"? too many modern regulations...you could make it lighter...that would help..but the bottom line is nissan shares this platform with - both of the FX's, the G's and the new M is going to using this platform(modified tho) ...too many masters to serve..for trying to make a buck and giving us what we really want...the "new" Z is pretty close to what I'd expect and bottom line appreciate
I'd say the new Z has more soul than most cars out there:
Greasy windows,
Rattling dash
jarring suspension
hatch that won't open
wiggly driver's seat....
Sounds like soul to me
Really, I think the 350 is pretty good, and the only thing I think they could have done significantly better (from the driver's standpoint) is the balance and shock tuning.
