I have a smooth idle and no stalls, but it may come in time. I have about 1k miles on the popcharger. I have a whistle coming from it whenever I accelerate or change gears. That sound was absent at first, but has since appeared.

I don't like the sound. It drowns out the deep rumble of the exhaust. Maybe I'll get used to it.

Go ahead and flame me for asking this...

Does a popcharger give actual power, or is it more for "bling" (cool sound) value. I've searched other posts but no one seems to answer this.

Either way, how much is it, and can someone install it without a lot of trouble? I miss that turbo sound from me old Z. Har!

All show and sound. Little if any performance gain. The stock air intake is a well designed CAI. Is it worth the money? That's a question only you can answer. If you like an agressive sound and the fact that you can add it to your list of mods and gain some bragging rights on a forum like this then go for it. It's your money and your psyche.

One of the magazines, I think it was Sports Z says that they actually felt the performance increase. They said it was the best mod you could do for the money. People on this board were able to shed 2 tenths of a second off of their 0-60 times and 1/4 times with the popcharger. Hey, 6 HP is 6 HP. It's worth the $120.

What does that mean? Rice is when people alter the exterior of their cars to look ridiculous. The 350Z is a beautiful car stock. Why ruin it? I don't think putting an intake in is rice, especially the pop charger, as it looks like crap.

Thats what imports have been using for years, because car performance manufactures would not do the RD for a CAI. Cars such as metros, kia's, suzucki's, etc.....

You can goto to Vautozone or Pepboyz and get a cone filter with or without a heat shield and fab up a piece to make it fit your pipe. Then you get the loud mazda Zoom Zoom!

1. The stock air intake is not a CAI.

2. Dynos show 6 hp gains. Even if you discount JWT's claims of 6.5hps, other forum members have dyno'ed and shown the same thing.
