I changed at 1200 and used Nissan filter and Mobil 1 5w30. I plan to change again at 5000 and then every 5k after.

Thumbs up

I changed mine this weekend at ~3,060 miles. Went with Mobil1 10w30 as per my dealer's tech's recommendation. Reasoning is that 5w30 syn will have a slipperier viscosity than dino 5w30 and that 10w30 syn is closer to the viscosity of the 5w30 dino. Did you get all that. Dealer used the OEM Nissan filter.

Now, I know we enthusiasts types have a way of convincing ourselves that the car feels different after something as simple as an oil change, but let me tell you this. The Mobil1 coupled with the K&N makes the car run like a champ. It might be my imagination but the engine is a LOT smoother under heavy acceleration than it was just two days ago. I went out of my way today running errands just to enjoy the driving experience and it was quite hot here in D/FW this afternoon. Can't wait till the temps drop a bit more.

It's probably your imagination (just like my car always feels faster when it's clean), but state of mind is the ultimate goal, and therefore perception is reality. So enjoy your oil change!

Went to the place I take all my vehicles, Texaco Quick Lube. Some of these places are not reliable, have heard some horror stories, some may be urban legend, but some are not. At any rate, know the owner of this one and he is good, even took pictures for me to post. Wanted to get there at 500 miles, but made it there at 600. Oil was mineral based Havoline 5w30. Will go to dealer at 1200, that's only 200 away. Plan to keep using mineral oil until about 5000 then switch to synthetic, Mobil 1. But will probably switch out transmision oil fairly soon. Waiting for the maintenance manual to be released to get details on tranny and LSD.
