my Nissan dealer told me last night that I can order an '05 and that he swears that there are absolutely no changes to the z except for a new yellow paint color. Hmmm. Who knows. It's kind of late in the year to be holding off '05 announcements and literature. When will Nissan have info on their web site or in the dealers already??? I can order one but I can't get official info on it. Nice.

Well I just went in to testdrive a 2004 350Z and they told me the 350Z was going to get an extra 13hp to bump it up to 300hp for 2005. I don't really believe it because I asked him about the tire feathering problem and tire replacing under 10,000 miles and he said they fixed it but kind of had no clue to what I was talking about either it seemed like.

Yeah. My dealer says one of his customers puts lots of miles on his and brings it in for service and no problems. Sounds like his other customers bought theirs for a weekend toy. The slaes guy I talked to earlier in the summer that is no longer there said that no z's they sold in the past had tire problems but they had 2 used ones on the lot that day with obvious tire problems. His original statement still could be true and they don't check or don't care about their used cars much. It is kind of a separate lot. But nobody is ever going to admit anything to you when you are spending money! Nobody claimed to know what I was referring to either anyway. I even pointed the tires out to that guy and he said I haven't heard anything about that.
I now remember why I don't want to buy a new car more often than every 10 years. I have to admit that dealers seem to be a lot less agressive in my area than in the past. Can't wait to talk to the guy that's going to try and screw me with all of the paperwork to make up for it!

My buddy just bought a 04 G35 Coupe and his salesman told him the same thing about just easily replacing his intake tube with the Z's intake tube to his the extra 8hp. This is actually the 3rd time I have heard that. As for the other extra HP I will agree with that other guy, probably just a ECU tweak.

A better intake might be pretty effective overall. An ECU tweak would come at a possible cut in torque? Or maybe just extending the RPM limit? Doesn't sound like very 'usable' HP.
My brother just called his Nissan salesman that he bought his Xterra and Altima from this year and he said no changes for '05 Z except for a 2% price increase. I think we are all hoping for too much.
