can paintless dent repair be done on the bumpers of the Z? or does it only work on metal surfaces?

here is your answer i was just looking into this for mine the only way to fix it is to have a body shop heat it up to remold it but usually this messes up the paint then they have to repaint the area and reclearcoat the whole bumper.
my nissan body shop quoted me around $300 for this:
i havent dont it yet but im gonna get it fixed as soon as i get some extra money

Here in Ventura County Mr Ding gave me a quote. I think thats their name, anyway I have a nickle size ding on the the upper part of my front bumper. Yeah no can do as far as paintless dent repair. They need to heat the front bumper, and smooth it out. As far as re-paint they said it would be unnecessary. Quote including all fees is 175.00 out the door. I was completely pissed at the price at first but seeing other quotes it seems very reasonable.

yeah that quote sounds reasonalbe based on not repainting but they cant promise you a repaint wont be needed. i mean their might be someone who posts on here that they had theirs heated up no problems but all my expierences have been it burns the paint 8 out of 10 times. is kinda taking a gamble all i know is im sick of looking at mine. ive got my car exactly how i want it and all i see is that crease.
z4ken do you have a pic of yours?

i had a a piece o wood hit the side of my bumper which put a big gash on the side. i had baker jackson nissan fill in the gash on the front bumper and paint it for $110 it you cant even see where the damage was.
PDR will not work on the plastics. But, a good bumper guy should be able to take care of it pretty easily. Depending on part of the country fix will run anywhere from $85 to $200. Deal directly with the repair guy not the dealer or body shop, they'll tack on their cut to his price. If a body shop does it, it will run around $300 +.
Can this heating up of the front bumper work for creases also? I wouldn't necissarily call mine a dent, but it's more of an indented line... not perfectly straight either. It's like a lazy L shape, if you know what I mean. I've been wanting to have my bumper repainted for a while anyways.
Somewhat...
kind if difficult to describe, but I'll try. It begins (or ends) right around the driver side front license plate hole, then it moves downward more towards the center of the bumper like at a 45 degree angle ( like a / kinda) then it keeps going straight and ends a couple of inches below the passenger plate hole. Hope that wasn't too confusing

sounds strange!!!! any idea how it happended?i have no idea how mine happened the delaer said id could have been a grocery cart or something but i doubt it due to no paint damage or scrape and something had to hit it hard to crease it over 3 inches.
I really don't know how I got mine. My best guess is that someone slowly backed up into my car. I had just been away that day for about an hour or two. When I got back, that was the first thing I noticed
Not noticable unless you're in an area that shows a good amount of reflection off the car, then it looks pretty horrible.
