Question Traffic ticket question.

Well, got caught for speeding (43 in a 30)

Anyway, I've got a few questions for anyone who can answer.

- Anyone know if I'm eligible for Traffic School if I had just gone in Feb/Mar 2003?

- Could I contest this ticket if the Officer put the wrong address on the ticket? (he put my previous address on it).

- If I'm not eligible, anyone know how much (average) my premium will go up (I know it depends on a few factors, I'm just trying to get an idea of how much my rates will raise.) I'm 26 w/ no prior tickets or accidents. Is it gonna be a huge jump?

It really depends on the judge's mood if you go to court. My experince is that if you have a lawyer and clean record you have much better chance of getting it off. You can also ask for a differed sentence, which means that if within a year (check the rules for that in your state) you won't get another ticket then this one will go off the record, but if you happen to get one before the year is over then you get both. That's what happened to me. 2 weeks before the 1st one was suppose to get off the record I got another one, but my lawyer friend got it off for me so neither one is on my record now. I tell you, those lawyers can do miricles. The guy before me was under 18, drunk, speeding and whole bunch of other crap. He got off on the technicality, don't remember which one exactly, but basically the officer made some kind of mistake and the whole thing was thrown out of court. Yea, the judge talked about how bad it is yada yada yada, but the fact of the matter is that this little punk got off clean. In other words consult a lawyer, it will probably cost you no more then $300 but you will have a much better chance.
