I got the z in september of 08 and I was 21.


1987 Chrysler Lebaron turbo convertible-pos, blew the motor, first car from Grampa

1988 for thunderbird- boaty pos ha, bought for 800
(couldnt find pic, probably better)
1993 hatchback-d16 pos, bought for 300

2002 gti 337 (only 1500 made)-wrecked into electrical box,only had for 2 mos-gap insurance paid it off

2007 zx6r-bought for 10k-sold for 6500 to put down payment on the z(laid down and had to fully rebuild,pic is after wreck)

1996 integra-sold for 7k(put 12k into it)bought for 1200 w bad head, owner went from 2nd to 5th, had jdm front end all carbon fiber and much more when I got it, killer deal except its a honda. b16/b20 190hp to the wheels with hondata.

2003 ppw track edition-put 4k down bought with 43k miles, pay 375 mo ins 275

Just don't raise my insurance, use the search function and yes, the Ebay tail lights look like $hit as do a lot of the other "I spent all my money on my car so I can only afford cheap, tacky mods"

 

I like how some of you guys make comments to the younger people that have a 350Z. Who cares if their parents bought them a car. I've had over 30 cars and my parents never paid for any. I worked throughout HS to pay for my cars. Would have I liked if my parents bought me a nice car? Sure. Do I care if some 16 year old got one from their parents? No, I consider them pretty lucky to be in that situation and I'm not going to be a dick about it.

Well you and I are very different.

 

 

My friend put his audi a4 turbo on craigs and some kid text him asking about it, after talking for awhile we find out the kid is 16 and wants a "sick car" but his parents are paying the 8k for it, and his daddy has to come with him to meet up. Lucky kid, but its not out of being jealous, I mean, Paris Hilton never had to buy her own ****, she is doing just fine personality wise.

 

That's the problem in the world. Everyone worries about everyone else's situation too much. Who cares if his parents are buying the car. Who cares if you worked that hard to get it. At least you got it and that's what is important. It doesn't matter there will always be that greatful child out there who's parents are willing to buy them whatever. Who cares if they end up like the one 18 y.o. girl with the 911 Turbo, or like a literally ignorant Soulja Boy with a Gallardo. No matter how you look at it there will be wealthy people out there willing to spend the money on their kids. So what if you have to work harder just do it and be happy and hope your kids can have that kind of future.

yeah, i operated 4 restaurants out of boston and used the 300zx to put a pretty big down payment on it.
then i bought the jeep for next to nothing (got it back running with a friend's help).
