I was woke up 4am in the morning last night because i heard some gunshot sounds on my driveway, after I jumped out of bed and quicky ran to the window i saw a couple punk highschoolers jumping back into their car after they shot up my front and rear windshield with a BB gun. I walked towards the tragedy of My Z and the windows are completely shattered, I am so unbelievably pissed right now you you cant comprehend. I asked around for some prices on the windshield and found out it costs $670 for the front and $279 for the rear which does not include labor or installation materials. My question is if I report this to the insurance company with a filed police report will my rates go up, is it more affordable to pay out of my own pocket or let my insurance handle the messs. DAMN Punkass highschoolers, have no respect at alll nemore. If I ever catch these SOBS you can be sure they gonna have trouble walking on both legs.

 

Sorry man. I just got my front windsheild replaced for $190 labor included (before tax) so keep calling around.
The company that did mine was Empire Glass. Plus they gave me 24 free dinners to Chueys Restaurant.

 

Damn dude, thats a very good price!! Your right im going to start calling around. So is ur windshield custom made or is it anaftermarket window?

 

Let the insurance co handle it, I dont think you will find a window that cheap ever.

 

You should absolutely file a police report, and in California, any damage to your car that was not caused by you (or your negligence) cannot make your insurance go up.

All you need to pay is your comprehensive deductible. This falls under vandalism.

 

I live to far away from you but I have a friend who owns a shop that said he'd replace the front window on my legend for $200. The Z's may be more expensive though. High quality shop too, account for Los gatos ferrari/ silicon valley bently. ( The use an outside glass company, not sure on the name. I wanted them do the glass on a 360 yesturday)

Sorry to hear that. A few weeks ago I got my car egged (some minor scracth) and I live in culd-de sac. I suspect it was my neighbor across the street. I spent $600 for camera, which I could have use for my car..

I live in the covina area. Walnut is so close. Would you like to meet sometimes. I like your car setup and would like to see it.

Dag, In Massachusetts, no question about it, glass is replaced right away with no charge, no added premium. It is considered vandalism, what happened to your car.

this is what i would do,

if you remember what type of car the punks were in explain, if you didn't call the police you should of,

after you file a police report i would call the insurance company and explain everything that happened.

I'm 99.9% sure they will fix it for you without your premium to increase. You might have a deductable, so if anything you have to pay for a little.

Good luck man, i guess one good thing about living in the north east is taht all glass on cars are replaced basically for free.

$30k car - GARAGE = vandalism/theft/etc.

Just got my windshield done yesterday - $325 w/ labor. They used a PPG that looks identical to OEM.

You would have eventually had a pebble hit it and crack it anyway! Weak glass

 

They used Pilkington Glass and it looks great!
Amazing deal for the money.
