Default Touch up paint

Should I get this from the dealer?, or is there someplace else that I can get this?, does it work very well?

I got mine straight from the dealer and I would not get it from anywhere else...because the dealer has/knows the excact color I need... I'm sure some1 else might have the same touch up paint... but I preffer to get it from the dealer... that's just me.

if the dealer doesn't have it in stock and you feel like waiting two or three days then go for it. if not you can get it from courtesy nissan ( http://courtesyparts.com/350z/paint.html ). i used the double-sided pen on my front fascia and it works really well.

Default Touch Up paint

I have been waiting for three weeks for my touch up paint, the dealer says the paint is coming from california (big deal).

The kit I got from the dealer included the touch up paint and the clear coat.

I really don't like the touch up paint, it seems it doesn't match at all.

And yes, I have the right paint kit.

You right the touch for our color "QX1" doesnt match at all, we tried it on a small spot on the Max and Z and it made them look worse. My wife the expert said let me try you applied it wrong and tried it on the Max and it looked bad so we took it off before it dried on both cars.

Make sure you shake it for a good 45 seconds, and use 3 or 4 thin coats. You want to build up the paint you put in the chip or scratch, it looks much better. Also if you use a tooth pic instead of the brush its alot easier to apply.

Toothepick is my choice of weapons also. Sometimes Ill chew on the end if its a bigger chip!

Default Touch up

I work as a detailer for a Toyota dealership, I have found that the touch up job(On pearl white paint) looks a lot better if you apply a solid white as the base coat then the pearlcoat then clearcoat.

I don't know if this will help

I have some very small dings on the front (about the size of a pinhead). Can you use the pen on those or would it be better to use the bottle paint and use a toothpick to apply it? Or can you use a toothpick with the pen as well?

im usually not to quick to touch up really small ones like your talking about. You can end up with blotches instead of what you may not see from 5 feet away. I almost always use the toothepick though.

I see you have a PPW too. Gotten the touch up yet? I had a dealer touch mine up and he only did the base coat so its whiter than the rest of the car. Wondering if adding the clearcoat next will make it look better or worse. Thinking of getting the touch up pen and trying the clearcoat over the white basecoat. I realize it is a three step paint job but the touch up kits only come with a base & clearcoat. Opinions?
