Default Just How Fast Is The 350z?

After seeing in the magazines times from 5.4 to 5.8, and 1.4 mile time of 13.9-14.4. I just want to know and share with others what owners of the 350z think. Is it as powerful as you would like or is it more power than you really will use. Also there is still some question on what the 350z will be able to take on the streets... m3's, 911's, cobra's, ls-1's, vette's. Owners of the 350z please post for the rest of us what you can and have stood up against. Lets make this a good post for everyone to get info. on just how fast is the 350z.!

I am very happy with the overall power and speed of the Z. Every time I step on the gas when my wife is in the car she says "You better slow down. You know those other cars aren't racing you." lol (little does she know everyone wants to race!)

I did get a chance to run with a debadged stealth on some back roads the other day. I'm not sure what version it was but it was very fast. When we came up on traffic he would wait till the last minute and floor it. I would do the same thing and he was never able to loose me. We went from 55mph to 100mph several times passing cars. I always felt like the car wanted more too.

If my 350 had more power, then I wouldn't need my 300 anymore.

I'm happy as it is right now, but I'd be in nirvana if the 350 had 330-350hp.

Michael.

Well, coming from an 1.5L 85hp Paseo and a 4.0L 160hp Ranger, the Z has far more power than I am used to. However, after 4 weeks and 2000 miles, I find that I am slowly becoming adjusted to what is available. I imagine that in a year or so I will be used to the stock power of the Z and will be ready to start checking out simple upgrades. Hopefully I can spend two years checking out upgrades so I can start modding when my warranty expires. Hehe.

I have an 07' GT, and I got mine past the 160 mark. It looked like 165 (i think). I think that if I didn't have to slow down, it could have gone to 170, at least. I'll look at the digital speedo next time.
My buddy has a twin turbo Vet, with a 118 octane ethanol shot. He blow past me.
Another friend has an NSX, and he barely pulls me.

Its was fast in the beginning, I was used to a Pickup, know I know its slower than my older car of a TransAm which I got everything done to. The Z has decent power but I still feel a lack of hp in the long range. Still for the price and looks it is very acceptable.

In the inital weeks the z seemed incredibly fast. Although I felt my 240sx with minor mods (intake, exhuast, test pipe, headers, etc ((No FI)) ) pulled a lot faster than the z does. It could be me, but the z seems a bit 'sluggish' on the get go but 60mph and beyond (specially around 100mph) it's a beast!!

I'm sure I have to mod my car right, but still reading on forums what will give me a quicker start as most street races end in less than 20 seconds :P

So power wise, I do feel that it needs more. I've heard the VQ35 'rev up' is much better than your older 350's.

i dought ur na 240sx was faster then your z. I think if you did every Na mod to a 240sx it would still get raped by the z. FI is a different story
