05 A Control Arm
Anyone hear of this rumor on the 05?
The control arm is not adjustable on current Zs, right? On the 2005s that arm will be adjustable. This is supposedly the key to fixing the front suspension and tire feathering issue.

Sweet...
if the first thing is true (new control arm for 05), i guess i should wait for an 05. but if the recall is true, then i guess i don't really need to. why can't nissan just announce this stuff already!

Normally, the rule of thumb is don't buy a car in its first model year. In the Z's case, add a year.
One thing that bothers me is how they handled the "running" fixes this year. The upgraded plastics, seat belt fix, etc. The Japanese market got the fixed cars first. Next Europe. Here we are well into July and the fixes haven't shown up yet in cars at dealers in my area. I have a feeling the US market will go begging until the '05 model shows up.
But I'll look on the bright side. The '05 model is starting to look sweet if the tire feathering problem is one of the included fixes.
Should I be the first to tool around in a yellow one? Naw, Silverstone's still my pick.

What'll be interesting is how they'll handle the fix for the '03/'04 models. There's no doubt in my mind they'll have to fix it. And, since it's a safety issue, the rumor of a recall sounds valid. But will Nissan wait until most of the '04s are off the lot? Let's see how slimy they are. My bet is they've got a fix and are sitting on it for marketing reasons.

hmmm, wonder what will happen to those of us who purchased aftermarket camber arms to get the alignment correct? i guess we'd have to revert back to stock, get the tsb fix, then try to sell unneeded camber arms that cost a pretty penny! wonder if there could be some possible reimbursment as with the tires when the tsb for feathering was issued?heck, id probably be viod from the potential tsb due to having aftermarket suspension pieces anyways.........
