Angry My first door ding.

So I was walking back to my car after a trip to Blockbuster when I noticed a spot on my driver's door. My heart sank when I got closer and realized that it wasn't bird poop like I had hoped, but a small door ding and somebody's paint! The paint rubbed off mostly, but a small ding is there, dead center on my door. I am furious. 2200 miles and a ding already, one that I'm going to see EVERY time I get in my car. I am SO pissed right now, why can't everyone be careful and respectful of other people's vehicles when getting in/out of their cars? Sorry, just had to get that out. [/rant]

A reputable PDR place will do wonders... heck, they repaired 3 of them on my g/f's car (one of them on a crease) and they came out perfect! I had my doubts at first, but was proved otherwise... do give it a try

That sucks. After a year and 10,000 Miles, I'm still ding free. (Knock on wood). I just try to park at least 8 miles away from the nearest car. So that's worked so far. Good luck getting it out. It'll be good as new before ya know it.

You guys with paintless dent repair experience - what kind of prices are reasonable to get out a ding and buff the spot? It's about dime size.

sucks to hear that man. i hate careless bastards. i had a *ding about the size of a half dollar coin (it was very light, not too deep but noticeable). a pdr co. charged me $80 (i dont know if thats a good price or not...just giving you some reference). the ding was was about 95% percent removed (you can slightly see some uneveness in reflections). depending on where your ding is, it might not be able to be fully removed b/c the Z has 2 metal beams that run through the doors as a brace/for safety (it gets in the way of pdr tools). hopefully this is not your case. good luck with the fix.

Don't quote me on this but there was a Z meet up here in NorCal to fix dings and I thought it was 89.99 for the first and 1/2 off for the next ones. Henry might be able to confirm however.

agreed, just make sure they put duct tape at the top of the glass or other protection because they scratched mine the last time.

Depends on where you live. I've seen horrible things happen to double-parked cars. You're right, cops don't do **** about double parking but many drivers do get furious when see that.

So be careful.

should by 75-100 bucks.

Definitely put a towel or something over the top of car, where window meets door and roof, they have to lean on that with tools.

It works wonders, PDR, gone like it never happened.

I was referring to that about four posts up from your's. It was what you quoted above, but there was the 25% off on top as well that put the pricing icing on the cake

I don't even have a Z yet, but i still park my truck (03 silverado) as far away from everyone else as i can. Also, try parking against the medians in parking lots, so someone can only park on 1 side of you.

some people just don't respect ppl at all. I don't drive a z but I drive the next best Nissan, the maxima. I was getting in my car in a parking lot, and i had the door open about a half foot cuz i had just gotten in and my foot was still out. this lady walks up to get into her pos grand prix. she slams her door into mine, closes it back, looks at me (with my horrified face) shrugs her shoulder, then does it again, lets off a little giggle then once again opens her door into me. By the time i realized what had happened they were in there car, i tried to stop them but they drove away anyway. it didn't do to much damage, the door only hit the little plastic gaurd thing. but it was aggravating
