how much does it cost to own a Z over there??

 

I bought my 350Z any option 38 200 euros.

it is not expensive for a car like that.

 

38200 euros? omg thaz like $48k US...you can buy a used 2001-2002 M3 with that $$....crazy

 

I haven't been to France, but I know the cars in Europe are all so small (mini Coopers, Peugots, etc...) when compared to the USA (the SUV and big truck craze!). How common are Z's in France? What is the most common vehicle you see there as far as sports cars?

 

I believe in europe they look at WAGONS the way WE look at SUVs.

In France the 350Z is cheap...

This is CRAZY ! - in Finland the 350Z Pack version is about 60K €. With the conversion rate 1.244 it's 74.64K $ ! I really wonder why I have one.

The Euro-spec Pack version is about the same as your Track version. Brembos, VDC, TCS, LSD, 18" wheels, HIDs, leather(heated), aero spoilers, heated mirrors, knee pads etc. For Europe the suspension was heavily modified. I think that your -05 model includes many of the modifications which were designed for the Euro-spec 350Z.

does that 38000 euro price include taxes? Are taxes a huge expense on the car purchase?

 

I can tell you that in Holland, the road tax is 40%(!) above the base price. Plus sales tax (VAT) of 19%, you do the math. Go figure, I owned a bike when I lived there. And I mean a bicycle!

In Finland the car taxes are a huge expense - about half of the car purchase price is taxes. 60K€ includes all taxes - out the dealer door and on the road. Our annual car tax is about 120€ only. How is it in France ?

 

in france there no annual car tax.

 

No annual vehicle tax but you sure pay a lot through road tolls. It seems like there is a "payant" every 10 miles.

 

i can't imagine driving in paris. i spent about 1.5 months there and watching people drive was crazy. it seems like there are no lanes and people just sorta go where ever. i never saw a wreck while i was there tho.

it's also very difficult and expensive to get a driver's licence, i think? if i remember correctly, the friend i stayed with said it was ~1000 euro.
