I was hoping this trend of young automatic drivers was just my imagination because I would hate to see the youth of America abandoning Manual sports cars. Please tell me some young people still love their 6 speeds.
I have an auto :-/... I wish I had the 6spd a lot, but for those times in "parking lot" traffic I just thank myself that I let people talk me out of getting the 6spd. Next car won't be automatic (even tho I have to say the automatic in the 350z is really good, very responsive). I know its not really a sports car if its not stick, but I'm glad I got the car that I love anyways. It still killed the guy at the track with a 6spd 350z (probably just a bad driver).

Im hardly the epitomy of responsibility now, but when I was 17? oh Im pretty positive Id be dead. yeah, Id give it 9:1 odds
Im probably broke as hell right now but my parents for cover for me for college stuff.

Thumbs up

Big deal if you are 16, 17, or 18 with a 350Z. I knew a kid in high school who dad bought him a new white 1994 Corvette which was a close to a $40K car in those days. My guess is there are some kids with Ferrari's in CA, NYC, or any other rich areas in this country. Whether you paid for your car or not just enjoy it and drive it.

I've seen a 17yrs oldish kid driving a Ferrari Maranello on the street. Pretty freaking crazy. But I'm pretty sure its his dads.

Hey, who mentioned $550/month for insurance? Get your deductible raised to $999 -- it is WORTH it! I betcha you're at $499. You're paying a lot for nothing... so what if, when you have accident you pay $999 vs $499... hey, in just a couple of months, with your rate, you'll save more than the diff in deductible.

So, increase the sucka and enjoy!

Also, what's the point of PIP if you've got good health insurance? Drop PIP!

C ya..

I love a good thread hijacking!!!

The back tires on my car have SOOOO much negative camber right now that I almost don't want to drive it. Of course, I haven't had it aligned yet, so that's not a big deal. I took it to Brown's on Friday, but guess what.....They can't get it on their alignment rack because it's too low!!! So it's going to Ferrari on Monday for a full alignment. Ferrari was actually pushing me to buy the rear camber arms before my alignment. I insisted that I wanted an initial alignment done to determine how far out of spec I would be before I spent the $400 on camber arms (not that I'm opposed to buying them).

I am all for a NoVA meet. There is a weekly "any-car" gathering at the Lowe's that would be cool to get a group showing up at.

Give me a hollar next week sometime so we can go for a "Welcome home" drive, and maybe on Friday, we can meet up at Lowe's. There are some pretty cool cars that show up out there.

BTW, how was the trip?

hahaha true! Yeah, next week sounds good. I havent had a chance to check the Lowes meetings yet but ive heard about them. Damn, not being able to get my car aligned is one reason I am scared to drop it, but im sure it looks really good. The trip back was the best flight ive ever had. I fell asleep, woke up, ate, popped some sleeping pills and woke up with 40 minutes to Dulles ahaha it was awesome, made the 14 hour flight seem like 1. I took tons of pics so I will bring them when we meet up. Like I said, next week sounds good, anyone reading this is welcome. I will hollar at you next week Kelly.
