Default new base or used touring???

I can get new base model or turing with very low milage for about the same price. I am particulary interested in the suspension tuning. What, if any, difference is there in the suspension tuning on the 5 different models of z's????

ANy thing I should watch for in buying used????

Get the Touring if the price is silmular. More comfort features and the suspension is the same anyways.

I agree, I spent the extra money on the Touring because of the little extras. Just keep in mind the stereo system still sucks. But the little things in life is what makes it bearable.

I just got a new Enthusiast. I didn't feel comfortable getting an '03 at all because of the tire feathering issues and a lot of the smaller complaints that you see from the '03's. There is a guy in my building w/ an '03 and he has had a lot of little problems w/ his car that he's very unhappy with.

Guess I'm outvoted. I got the base - the only big difference to me is the electric seat and the Bose. I never move my seat anyhow - but would enjoy the Bose. Had the Bose in m 1990 300ZX and the 1995 Maxima. Of course I'm not in the car that much of the day - so the Bose isnt really worth the extra 1200 to me.
When I read of all the possible problems with the 2003 models I am happy I waited for the 2004.

Going to the mountains of Colorado for the entire month of Colorado - zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz country!! - all those hills and curves.

Base doesn't have VDC or TCS I believe, the Touring has both. Their both worth it.

If you plan to fix up the car with aftermarket parts. Maybe a base is for you. The options in a Touring are nice. But either way you go, you still have a fun car.

Go to the Nissan web site and use the dealer search function to see what dealers within a few hundred miles of you have. Call to confirm if you see what you want; site inventories are not 100% accurate. I bought my Zzzz from a dealer 300 miles away.

Go to the Nissan site I posted above to see model differences; much of the info posted by others above is wrong.

I'd get new just for the warranty.

If you drive in the rain alot in a hilly or winding area, you'll see the difference. For a difference of a few grand, the extra security in those features is worth what you get overall. Hell the HID's alone are nice to have between a base and enthu.

35,000 M warranty on new car- can be trasferred to new owner on a low mileage vechicle. I purchased the 6 year, 75000 mile extended warranty - for peace of mind - also car would be of more value if sold in 3 or 4 years with 35000 miles on it. Something to think about - replacing parts very expensive.

As long as the car is still covered by the standard warranty you can purchase the extended warranty. Which I'll be doing in roughly 6-8months.

also forgetting the LSD, and HIDs in addition to the VDC/TCS. Those make a big difference and are well worth the extra $1200. Get an enthusiast, thats the best trim other than the almighty Track.
