My new Brickyard Track in Tulsa
Well, my short (by comparison to most of the rest of you) wait is over. I heard about my Z from Zboy (he backed out of this preorder to get a Black Track) 2 1/2 weeks ago. I bought the car by FedEx and paid $800 for shipping from Boston to Tulsa. I picked up my Z in Tulsa from its 1500 mile journey this morning. I thought I would have to wait until next Spring, so I really lucked out.
It is filthy, even after I washed it with the sprayer at the car wash, but it is still beautiful. My first impression is very very good. It is very tight and bouncy. It's been a couple of years since I sold my z32 TT, so I have been used to sedan suspension. I love the go kart feel. I may take off early today to go hand wash it. I think I'll wait a few weeks before polishing to let the paint cure. Isn't that what I am supposed to do? Man I'm happy today.

Congratulations on the delivery! Looks awesome dirty or not.
I'm waiting for November delivery of my Brickyard Touring....if I pass you on the road I suspect I'd figure out it must be you. Don't know of any locals around here with a Brickyard..or at least I haven't seen one yet. Again congratulations!

Well, I went home early yesterday and washed the thing. Then it had all of these water spots all over, so I decided to go ahead and put a coat of Nu-Finish (what I had) on. It looks pretty good, but I think I'm going to get some Blackfire or Zaino for the next job. The car is great, no sign of any shifter rattle, orange peel or other strange noises people have been talking about. The stereo (not Bose) is great. The navigation system is ultra cool. I thought I would probably be disappointed with the nav, but I love it. It is so detailed. I was a little worried about the cloth seats as opposed to leather, but these seats are really sporty. They look and feel very expensive to me and they are really sticky: they hold you in tight. I think I may have received the only perfect Z! I am 6'3", 200 and it fits me like a glove. Anyone much bigger would probably have trouble getting comfortable, although I carried a 6'6", 275 lb. former 1985 National Champion Oklahoma Sooner offensive lineman to lunch yesterday, and he didn't seem too bent up. I feel the crampness more in getting in and out, although it is probably mainly due to the fact that my previous car was a luxury sedan. I hope people continue to think Brickyard is for old farts or not a good color because I absolutely love it and I hope there are only a handful on the roads. It is so rich and interesting. Everywhere I go people are rubbernecking to look at the car. I'm just waiting for someone to have an accident. I'll post some pictures later. I wanted to take some when I finished detailing it last night, but it was getting dark and I need full sun to capture the color. The pics I have seen so far on this site don't represent very well. If other Okies or Arkies have Zs or have them ordered, please post pics of yours so we can see what we have here. We need to get a chapter together to meet and enjoy these fabulous vehicles.
Excellent! Looking forward to the pics!
Kristi and I saw the Brickyard the other night, finally, but we got to the dealership as the sun was going down, so we didn't see it in all of its splendor.
I think most people were scared to get his color sight unseen, but I also hope it continues to be a rare choice.
