Thanks dc350z. It does help, I need to know what to use on the wheels. Don't want to use aluminum/mag polish on it by accident.

Hey thats great news NismoEagleRock. Good color choice too btw. Well I will be using a rim cleaning spray ( I will decide on the company when I check out Pep Boys). Then just spray water and try to lightly scrub the spots that don't want to come off easy with a wheel brush. Then After I dry the wheel, I will put some rim polish on them and buff it off. I am thinking of getting Mothers rim polish that is clear coat friendly. I used it on the S2000 and the rims stay clean for a longer time, plus its much easier to clean brake dust once you have the polish on there.

I can't wait for my car, it isn't much too longer, but time just seemed to go 10x slower the closer I get. Good luck on your car.

I always just use regular car wash soap. If you are a frequent washer, the brake dust and grime just wipes right off.

Dont use metal polish on your wheels. Just treat them exacly like you would your paint. Would you use metal polish on your hood? Didn't think so.

I have the track model and the best stuff that I've found that actually cleans and doesn't harm the clear coat is Castrol Wheel Cleaner. It's in a purple bottle and you can buy the stuff at Wal-Mart. Just make sure it's the WHEEL CLEANER and not the Castrol Super Clean degreaser. The Wheel Cleaner works great. I spray it on my brembos, outside and inside of my wheels and let it soak for about 1 min. then power wash them off...they look great and it won't harm your rims or eat the clear coat off.

That stuff is acid based, which in the longterm is not good for your wheels. All "spray on, hose off" wheel cleaners are harsh acid based products. For the best long term appearance of your wheels, keep away from these types of cleaners.

I keep a good coat of wax on my wheels and use regular car wash soap on a mitt only used on wheels. Seems to do fine.

I waxed the wheels with Mother's and the dust seems to come off easier. I just wash with Meguiars Gold Class car wash.

Usually I just do the face of the wheel. However after 5,000 kms the insides were getting pretty black. Using an old rag (that will never be clean again!) I was able to clean the inside of the wheel (behind the spokes) without taking the wheel off. Cleaning the inside makes a big difference, it looks a lot better now.

Try cleaning the inside of the Rays with just your hand. I started trying to use a rag and it just got filthy and spread the wet dust around. When I used my hand to break the dust loose, it came off very easily and it washed right off my hand with just water. I can clean inside the rims with just my hand in about 30 seconds per wheel and it looks spotless.

Zboy,

I love it. Check out the only pic I have posted so far at the thread I posted yesterday: "Brickyard Track in Tulsa". I love it so far. I hand washed it yesterday, but it was dark by the time I finished, so I didn't have time for photos. It is overcast today, so I don't know if I'll get very good pictures. I will post when I get some good ones so look for it. The car is perfect, as I wrote more about in yesterday's post. Thanks again for all of your help. Folks, Zboy is a 350Z Saint. He put me onto his presale backout before the dealership could take the car back and charge someone in excess of MSRP. I got the car at MSRP plus shipping from Boston. It was fate.
