I think the SRT-4 looks great from the front. If they improved the rear a bit, it would look pretty nice overall. For $20k, it's a very good bang for the buck, especially for those with power being highest on the priority list.
I don't really care if it's faster than my Z, as there are a ton of cars that are faster than my Z. I think Dodge did a bang up job supplying a car with that much power for the price, and I would like to see more on the streets, but they are quite rare here in Sacramento. I actually see more Z's, RX8, STi, and EVO8's than SRT-4's. For $20k, I would have expected them to sell out, but I suspect that the fact that they are tied to the Neon has hurt their sales. Dodge should have made them two completely separate cars, but I'm sure the bean counters rejected that idea.
Oh, well, I can't wait to see one of those SRT-4's flogged.

With the engine being so tweaked to give the kind of horse it's getting.....and with all the cost cutting in all of the other components of the car to bring it down to that price range, I think reliability will be a major problem with this car. 10 years from now, the Z will still be running solid. I don't think the dodge will even make it to 5. But as said before, give credit where credit is due. The kind of horse that little engine is cranking out is amazing.

Heh, whatever you have to tell yourself.
I seriously doubt most of you will be driving your same Z's in 10 years.
Bang for the buck, the neon is a quick ride.
I think you pay for what you get though. The Z is definatly a nicer car to have, but if i was 19 and that was an option, i'd be hard pressed to find something else that quick for that little.

Ya the neon is quick but you have to admitt it lacks styling.
The body is so 1995 and the rear looks like a stink bug.
If dodge put a sleeker body and got rid of the neon shell it would be a hit.

And lets not even go into the build and components quality.
The Dodge is a short term thrill. Which is fine, if that's what you're looking for. And if you're only interested in straight line performance exclusively. I like to turn once in a while.......so I'll stick to the road cars, be it Hondas, Beemers........or even a (god forbid) Nissan......

He drafted you, of course he passed you if you were not ready. Drafting cars have a huge advantage over the other car.
This past weekend I was cruising with an SRT4. He did exactly what you described. Except I kept it even when he went to pass me.
When I drafted him, I smoked him by 3 car lengths. I hope that shows you who the faster car is

thry are very quick cars and for a lil amount of $ you can make them alot faster....but then again it all depends on what you want in a car...but i raced a slightly modded one the night i got my z and i smoked him both times....both times from a stop0-110mph...but if you dont know how to drive they can easily stomp you..

and that is extremely important when you're on the track, err dragstrip, err highway, err street, err why is that important again?

And you wouldn't buy "any" of them because...?
