Default The dreaded seat "clunk"

I know there is a TSB out for a "clunk" in the drivers seat, and my '04 is now exhibiting this behavior. I was wondering if anyone knew what the cause of this was and if it's 'owner fixable'. I have some covers on my seats that I'm sure would get dirty, ripped or both if I take my car to the dealership with them on, and they are a real PITA to get off, so I'm wondering if this is something I can fix without removing the cover? Thanks.

ZPilot has posted his fix...its a large thread, complete with ZPilots diagrams and pictures. The fix basically involves stabilizing the right side of the rod that tilts/raises the seat. The left side of the rod is connected to the **** which raises the seat. The right side just sits in a hole in the seat frame. You can see this by looking between the seat and the center console. The fix is to install a washer and pin to prevent movement of the right side of the rod.

I have a good dealership service dept...they fixed my seat and no problems since. I think that the TSB was derrived from ZPilots fix. He's a clever fellow to beat Nissan to the fix.

My TSB took care of the clunk, but my seat still creaks. *sigh* they've "lubed the tracks" like 5 times already.
