when would it come. Are dealerships only takeing orders for 05's or they are still taking orders for 04's?

 

Most dealers will say 3 months (90 days) from the time that the order is placed. My dealer told me that orders can only be placed the first week of each month.

I ordered my 04 Touring the first week of May, and I was hoping to get the vehicle the end of this week, but the dealer has recently told me that the car will not be available until August 13th (114 days).

I do not know if you can still order the 04 Z.

My dealer told me they stopped taking orders for 04s after the first week of July as there is simply a cut off on spl. orders. My guess is that they have a certain amount to produce for the lots based on stats of what sells.

I'll happily wait for 05s although I won't order until I can get them $500 (or less) over invoice. 90 days with 500 down seems to be fairly standard.

Hey Chris, I think my car is on the same boat as yours I also ordered an 04 Touring (Silverstone) during the first week of May and was recently told it would be mid August.

But anyways, I read somewhere they will be starting production of the 05s in August, so it might be a little longer wait if you order one now.

My order went out first week of May and the car arrived yesterday (!), although initially they had told me early August. Maybe it depends on the model (mine's a Base)?

 

mine said 3 months, and it took 3.5 months

 

I ordered mine around the same time you did,in mid April, and the dealer told that the car was expected to arrive this week. Then he just called today and told me not to expect for another two weeks. Why do you think the order was delayed?

 

hmmm.... I just went to my dealer, and he said in order to gaurantee an '05 delivery, I have to wait until they get their first '05 delivered.... is this a line of BS?? I wouldn't think they would tell me something like that if it werent true, b/c they are "delaying" a sale, or even turning one away...

 

I ordered my Z first week in May and it got here the last week of June so about 55 days. I guess I got lucky.

 

Sometimes they will get one that is just like the one you ordered and will fulfill your order early. I had the VIN of the one that was supposed to be mine but another came in before mine that was identical so I got it earlier.
