I can tell you this much, I bet the 300 does not have near the problems as our Z's. [/B][/QUOTE]

It will. Ask him again in about 8 months

What problems? I have 10000 KM`s and have yet to have a single problem on my 04.5 performance.

Well, I for one, love the 300c. I'm waiting for the awd wagon hemi with the roumered ultra hi-po motor. As for build quality, let's not forget that our Z's have a really really cheap interior. The 300c has a positively luxurious interior by comparison.

As for performance, it's a wagon/sedan, not a sports car so no, it won't handle the twisties quite as nice. But you can hual a whole lot more stuff/people in the sedan/wagon than you can in our little coupes.

Low 5 sec 0-60 times, and close to 400hp (in the hi po version) are nothing to sneeze at.

And I'll bet the Chrysler doesn't come with a bouncing down the highway ride either.

I for one am happy for ya. I think the 300C Hemi looks great. First thing I would do is remove the Chrystler Badgers/Change the Grill/Upgrade Rims and I would be very happy.

I believe that car will be capable of sub 14 sec. 1/4 mile times and may take VERY WELL to bolt ons. I too am holding my breathe to see if they will make an SRT-8.

In the end I love my Z too much to ever consider that type of trade unless I had a kid on the way..etc...

By the way I have 25K Miles on my Z and have had two issues.

1. Needed new tranny....done in two days.
2. Gas Needle Inaccurate..happening again

Overall i am very happy with my Z and my dealership...Nissan of Scottsdale. Sorry to hear you had issues with your Z. Hope the 300C is problem free in its first year but i wouldn't bet any money on it

Also OP Z, what are you talking about????? The reason I traded my Z was as you call it "warrenty hell". I am much more pleased with my 300C.
you could probably do a net search on chrysler and warranty issues and get a gazillion hits. They are notorious for it.

The one thing that may save the 300C/Magnum series is that is is built largely upon the Benz 430 platform.

Still, my experience (both my own and that of friends) is that the only decent marque in the Chysler Corp stable is Jeep. The rest are crap. In fact, a buddy of mine just traded in his Concorde... less than 100,000 miles and had to replace the motor twice! Also continuous electrical problems that started about 10K miles... serious water leak through trunk... and on and on.

I won't judge the 300C/Magnums harshly yet, but I would never be the first out of the stable to buy a Chrysler product. I hope they do buck the Chrysler rattletrap trend because the SRT-8 Magnum would make a great puppy hauler for me!

oh... and I'm with EnthuZiast here... 25K miles and only two notable issues with my Z (which was an '03 preorder)

1. replaced transmission for 2nd-3rd gear shifting issue. Fixed under TSB
2. grease streaks on windows from window rollers. Fixed under TSB

good luck with the 300C, iceman... keep us posted on reliability and any performance mods you ad.

Good luck to you and your ghetto-fabolous 300, you'll need it!

Been there, done that with Chrysler products. It only took one vehicle for me to learn my lesson. My advice, since you feel a 300 is better than Z (*snicker, snicker*), be sure to sell it before the warranty expires.

Good luck.

hate to break it to you all, but the 300c is not even close performance wise to the z. according to chrysler it's 0-60 time with the 340hp hemi is more than a half second off of the z's time (5.4 compare to 6.0 for the 300c). in "c" trim the damn thing weighs 4,000 lbs., and people call the z a porker. at that weight their is no chance it will out handle or out brake the z.

It's not even about performance.. it's like a Name brand vs Wal-mart discount brand.. that's all I can think of.

Default Experience w/ 300M

I leased a 2000 300m right off the lot with 6 miles on it.... 5 of them were my test drive.....

I won't bore you with all the warranty issues I had.... but the *funniest* was the steering wheel MELTING (no kidding) from sitting in direct sunlight.... It didn't melt dripping onto the floor or something.... the outer coating just got real mushy and grotesquely deformed....

If you're thinking I live somewhere hot.... *smile* think again. I live in OHIO.....

NEVER EVER buying Craplyer again. Fugg it... I hate american cars.

.... Ugh.... this whole topic may bring back the nightmares. I hope my Z does better.
