Default 1200 miles, brake-in complete.... Story......

WOOOOOOOOW, all i can say is wow...... Dont judge the quickness factor of the car untill its done with the break in. Im in third gear revving up to about 6000, already doing over 80, i had to slow down i didnt realize i was going to fast so quick. This car has exuberant speed!!!!!!! i will probobly never know what 5th and 6th gear redline is like, but im sure its awsome! Redlining 1st, 2nd, it just feels so dam quick. Its like you think you can race just about anything...... OK its two in the mornin.... If anyone wants to know more about the acceleration or anything about the car just gimme a PM, or e-mail Slexis200@hotmail.com Gnight all!

I think people must be coming from realllly slow cars or something because the Z feels slow to me, even after break in (I have a 6-spd too)... Of course I came from my Lexus GS400 which had 345HP/360 lbs torque... I'm always waiting for the car to pull but instead it builds up power slowly (the Z).

I am happy with the powerband as is, knowing that you have constant torque and hp in every gear satisfies me more than waiting to reach that sudden torque spike and then it drastically falling off.

That isn't stock is it? I remember dusting one of those in my Stealth TT and I know the Z is quicker than my Stealth. Doesn't the GS400 have only 300 HP stock?

The Z feels quick to me, a lot quicker than I thought it would. My previous daily driver was a 400 hp/530 lbs. ft. Buick, and I also ride in my brother's '02 Trans Am and his 597 hp/568 tq Buick fairly often. The Z doesn't throw you back in the seats like those cars do, but I was surprised at how fast it feels, especially for a V6.

Definately not stock.. Stock is 300HP though. TXSTYLE has the same mods as me on his GS400, we're both on clublexus.com. A simple intake/chip, exhaust, TOrque converter upgrade, and TQ spark plugs will yield you 360 lbs of torque and 1/4 miles in the low to mid 13's. Mine isn't quite as fast... 13.7 seconds in the 1/4, probably due to different tolerances and possibly due to my skinny tires (245's out back), the car peels out all the way through to 2nd gear when you brake torque and floor it.

i just got through driving my gs and z back to back. my z isnt broken in yet so i havent taken her past 4k rpm. but at low rpm, the gs does feel faster to me. however, it seems that after the initial thrust, the z feels faster. my gs is stock. my guess is that with average drivers, the gs would win in a stoplight race. however, magazines have clearly indicated that the z is faster. my 2 pennies.
