Are Aero/Splash Guards still a problem at port
Anyone know if these options are still causing big delays in getting your car from the port? My Z should be in Norfolk on Sunday and was hoping for an Oct. delivery but some of the first shipments I remember people waited 3/4 weeks for aero and guards. Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dan

ToddLuc, what did you or the dealer have to do to get it delivered without the aero? Please give details because I know my dealer is a dumba$$ and will not have a clue. Thanks for any help.

the dealer gave me the same load of crap on monday, no spoiler.
I said forget the spoiler and give me my car, I'll get the spoiler later.
They said they would try. As it turns out the car came in last night and it also had a spoiler!
I was out of the dealership at 7:00 pm with my brand new touring silverstone 6mt charcole leather fully loaded 350 with only 7 miles on it.
LIFE IS GREAT
I LOVE THIS FREAKIN CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was given a choice...
Either 1) have my Z left at the port until the spoiler arrived, or 2) ship the Z to the dealer immediately, and have them install the spoiler when the spoiler came in.
I trust my dealer. They are fantastic. I asked them to go with #2, and ship the Z right away. By going with #2, I will get my Z (sans the rear spoiler) until the part arrives. I am very happy with my dealership.
To answer your question, they said it was my choice on what I wanted done. Because there was no clear ETA on the spoiler arrival, I went with #2. The dealership was going to contact NNA and indicate my Z should not wait for the missing part.
I talked to NNA. They told me that the front spoiler may possibly be installed, even if the rear is not. The two pieces of the spoiler (front/rear) are from two different vendors.
I am impressed with Nissan regarding this issue.
I hope this is helpful,
Todd

I haven't recieved splash guards yet for my Z, & I have checked with dealerships all over the world & they try to get me to order them like they have them in stock, but when they put the order in on them they say that the part is on back order.. I heard that there is a problem with them being lined up on the car once they leave the port. That might be why they are back ordered so that they can include a template to line them up with. That sucks to me, because they haven't even designed the template yet.

Is it possible that a company the size of Nissan would let some small pieces of plastic stop the delivery of our cars. If Cazz can't get guards then I'm thinking they don't have them for the port cars either. I would think you could have 10,000 of these an the aero kits made in one day by a good supplier. Ok so add a week for paint and that would be more than the number of cars they have built. Maybe not that easy but how hard good it be. I guess when you use the cheapest supplier you don't get good on time delivery.
Cazz you have the same car I ordered. Love those wheels. How has it been keeping the Brickyard clean? Is it as bad as Black.

Great choice in cars & colors, just shows a lot of dust & scratches on my decklid. I am really wondering about the splash guards thing. I know that every time that I try a different dealership for the splashguards, they ask for the color.. When we got the Chrome Silver delivered, that was when they were having issues with them being scratched coming off the truck. I was thinking that they were gonna put new splash gurads on the car, but now I am thinking that they just painted & repaired the ones that were on it seeing that they can't get anymore out.
& thanks about the rims, that can be a little trouble to keep clean on the front 2 rims also because of the dust..

I think this is also why my Z was delayed a few weeks.
I actually feel bad for Nissan and many other companies trying to make a living amidst a strike.
Hope this helps,
Todd
