Well, it looks like GradZ isn't the only idiot buying a car they can't afford only to trade it down to a lesser car. I just went to a local Honda dealer and they had a near-brand-spanking-new 2004 350Z on their lot with 200 miles on the odometer. Then again, the guy could have traded in for a S2000 I guess.

GradZ, remember everytime your buy a new or used car, you are not only paying the dealer marks up, you also lossing on the transfer fee and stamp duty to the govt. If you do it 2 times on a 350z -> s2000 -> civic, the loss properly can pay off the civic....

Funny reading this **** again....
The statement "There's a sucker born every day" REALLY comes to mind!
Totally hilarious.
I had this lear jet, but I didn't know how to fly it, so I traded it for a car. I couldn't get a drivers license to drive it, so I traded it for a tricycle. Boy, that airplane sales guy really screwed me, didn't he...Haaaaaaaaaa

I bought a my 350 from Regal 3 weeks ago...
1. The Simoniz crap they try to sell you is not $2k as stated. The price on it is only like 350 or 400 bucks. (yes, I told them to take it off and they quickly obeyed with no fuss)
2. I experienced absolutely no pressure sales whatsoever.
3. For someone who traded in a roadster 4 days after he purchased it, I cannot blame a dealership since that person obviously doesnt know what is going on.
If you really want to get screwed, go visit the Mall of Georgia Nissan dealership.... they'll have your car door open and try to sell you a car before you get a chance to put your car in park.

I had a similar experience. Don't get me wrong though. I didn't let myself get raped like that. When I bought my Z 2 years ago they tried to make me pay for the paint protection (which was around $350 not $2000) and I looked at the salesman right in the eyes and said, "no thanks Slick I can wax my car for free myself." All he said was, "yes sir". I actuallly went to a few Nissan Dealerships before I found not just the Z I wanted, but the service I felt I deserved for buying a car from there lot. If I even start to get that "they are playing me for a fool" feeling, I just turn around and head for the door. Remember your doing them a favor for buying a car from there lot and not vise versa. Either way you go about it, they are making money off you some how some way. I always just make sure they make as little as possible off me or at least try my hardest. Oh and I have to agree with most of the others on this thread; you sound like an intelligent enough person and from your long list of high end and low end cars you have purchased in the past, I am suprised you let yourself get shafted so bad like that. I might be a little *** backwards on this, but if anyone should of called the cops it should of been you. They robbed you dude!!!! You should of just kept your Z coupe and went to another dealership.
