Default this will help you to remember which side your gas tank is on

I have great information for all of you so you will never forget where your gas tank is. if you look at the gas gauge. the full is usually on top and the needle is pointing up. if the empty is on the left side of the full, then the gas is on the left. if the empty is on the right, then the gas is on the right side. believe me thats always right on every car you will ever drive. unless it has an arrow pointing to a certian side. i hope you all enjoy my tid bit.

What happens to your theory if the "empty" is BELOW "full," and not left/right? (all my vehicles have "empty" below "full")

There is a little "arrow" (actually a triangle on it's side) on the Z's gauge pointing to the proper side (passenger).

As the Saab saleslady told me when we leased our Saab 2 years ago, the gas is on the right side, not the wrong one, although, my S-10's gas gauge is backwards, compared to the other 3 cars and its filler is on the wrong side

First this is an OFF TOPIC post

Second you are wrong. I looked at all my cars and two out of three have the E on the oppisite side of the gas filler.

Better luck next time.

Default arrows

I travel a ton in my business and rent many cars. The arrow thing, in my experience, is unique to rental fleets. After all, only someone in a rental car might need to be reminded which side the filler is on.

Anyone who needs to be reminded where the filler is on a car they OWN has serious problems and should probably not drive a car.

I already mentioned this in another post: there is a little arrow pointing to the right on the fuel guage to remind you which side the filler is on. Especially handy if you drive multiple cars and get mixed up which is on which side!
