Default 2005 350Z with an V6 4.0 ?!?!?!

Got a Press release from Nissan. I think its pretty interesting because I heard rumors of the 2005 35th Anniversery edition of the 350Z may be receiving a supercharger or 4.0 liter. Yes just rumors...

Once again I have nothing to back it up but I think that Nissan is releasing a 4.0 V6 is very interesting and I'm interested to see what the future brings. Hope this isn't a repost!

---------------------------------------
Nissan North America, Inc. announced best-in-class horsepower and torque ratings for the all-new Nissan Frontier pickup, which goes on sale at Nissan dealerships nationwide in December 2004. The completely redesigned 2005 Frontier comes equipped with an available 4.0-liter DOHC, 24-valve V6 engine that is rated at 265 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque.

Zlover4life,

yah I agree I doubt they would do it but I've been hearing some crazy rumors for the 35th anniversery thats why it caught my attention Interesting though however..

Come to think of it Nissan has never upgraded the motor size in a model. So doubt they would do it here unless we needed a Z to tow Stuff lol...

I would bet that the VQ40DE is simply stroked, not stroked and bored, meaning higher piston speed at the same RPM, therefore lower redline, lower torque peak, and lower peak bhp (which is why this is a truck motor, not appropriate for a sports car... i.e., the 350Z).

you're wrong

it's a 4 liter, so it's either stroked or bored.

Please re-read my post...

I said it's likely STROKED, not stroked AND bored.

Well that is true but what about the S2000? Started out with a 2.0 liter now going to a 2.2 liter but they didn't change the name to S2200...so it could be possible.

They could rename it to just Z instead of 350Z.

I think the BEST move would be to add F/I to the 3.5. That would rock so hard.

Default Seems Logical Now

Nissan increases the output for the G35 to close to 300. It cannot leave the 350Z alone. It is putting the 4.0 litre engine in the 350Z, instead of turbo charging it. It will bring out the 4.0 litre, 330 HP version for the 350z.

adding F/I would be awsome. Tuning possibilities would be greater and cheaper since all the interals are probably going to be beefed up and compression ratioed lowered from factory.

Factory F/I is highly unlikely, boys and girls.

Put your marketing hats on and think about the uncoming 2007 GT-R and how it will be positioned in the market vs. the 350Z/G35C.
