Default My Own "Z" Revelation

When parking my Z today, I parked near a new BMW 645 Coupe. This car is amazing (if you don't know what it is, trust me). I was thinking about purchasing one, but let's face it, it's well more the twice as expensive as the Z. But after walking back away from the BMW and toward my car, it hit me!

I like my Z BETTER! Pocketbook aside, I really like it better. I have an 04 Touring Redline Couple, no mods, and I love it.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

Later!

The 6 series coupe has an ugly ***. From a pure athestics point of view, the Z is better looking.

Thumbs up Re: My Own "Z" Revelation

I was thinking about purchasing one, but let's face it, it's well more the twice as expensive as the Z. (on the BMW 645)

Unlike you I can't get a BMW 6 series, but I do love the 350Z for the money that I can aford to buy. In other words if I had more money sure I would get something else. Not saying that people who can aford to get something more expensive than a 350Z shouldn't get a 350Z. It is all that makes you happy. I am happy with the 2004 DB touring 350Z while some people tell me I could have getten a used 2000 Corvette for same money and more power.

personally I love the style of the Z. while if I had the money i may of went with something else, I still love the Z. it is definitely the best bang for the buck as far as styling and performance goes. i'm not a huge fan of the 6 series bimmer but maybe an e46.. (hides)

I had a similar revelation a few weeks back. My neighbor was having his 04 Lamborghini Gallardo (pronounced Gee-Are-Doe for all you non Italians ) transported. I was helping him and the flatbed operator safely hoist the car aboard.

It wasn't until I noticed that the Gallardo's means for towing is the same as the Z;s. Removable towhook screws into frame. This got me thinking.

Sure, the Gallardo has massive 15"+ brake rotors up front, complimented by dual rear calipers on similar sized rotors in the rear.

Sure, the Gallardo has a rear engine that sounds almost erotic, and would easily dash past a Z's motor on the track.

Sure, the Gallardo is a Lamborghini.

But, the Gallardo is "a rancid porkchop" (Thanks, Tiff ) asthetically. I'll be damned. The Z looks better. Really.

I spent the rest of the day clearing off the daily dose of dust which accumulates so effortlessly upon my freshly waxed paint - proud to be a Z driver, at any cost.

I'm with you. I love my Z and I'm proud of it, but I'd smash it with a sledge hammer to get the keys to that Gallardo.

uhh if I had the money for a Lambo, I would get it too! But I have heard that cars like the Lambos & Ferraris aren't easy cars to drive. Of course they aren't made to drive every day like a 350Z is made.

You're right Zcarboy. The Lambos are nice, but hell, you can't really drive them on the street. You'd probably need a nap and a cool drink after 10 miles or so! haha

What I was getting at was that, to me, the Z is so much more desirable then cars twice it's cost, maybe even three times as much. Every time I see a Jaguar XR whatever (the coupe), I think to myself, god I love my Z.

I think most people will agree, it's all in the roofline. IMO, that line makes the car.

I totally agree with you, the slick curves and styling of the Z is awesome and unique. With the exception of maybe a 911 or something, it is definitely one of the best (reasonable) cars out there as far as style goes, at least in the sports car world

I dont see how a z is more desirable than any porsche other than the cayenne and boxter.

Hmm...I think the new BMWs look good. They are so much more agressive looking..which I think is great. I don't know why so many people don't like it.

I agree... IMO the only cars that really do look better than the Z are waay up in the six figure range. Nothing really compares to the looks of the Z under that price, except maybe a Dodge Viper GTS Coupe. C5's looks are just boring and bland already. E46/E36 M3's look like normal 325i's with a body kit and a boring roofline (although they still look pretty nice).

Most Porsche's look too much like catfish from the front, although the GT2 looks amazing from the rear. 360 Modena or Gallardo on the other hand, are just amazing. I saw my fist 360 Modena the other day in person (silver convertible) and I must say, the Z would look very good next to it

The Zzzz came very close to being an impulse purchase for me because I luv-ed the looks. I tell folks that you have to get into 6 digit prices to find a car I'd rather have.

But if I had the coin for a Lambo.............you bet!
