See my previous post.. you can use the rear lever to re-set the seat.. similar to the side lever but easier access.

Good idea, but I have an AT.

Exclamation

I have noticed the following issues:

- BOSE problems.
- Bouncy suspension.
- Some orange peel.
- Ridiculous amount of road noise from the rear tires kicking up rocks into the wheel wells.
- The NAV system voice is too loud, even when lowered all the way down.
- Condensation in the headlights sometimes.
- A low buzzy type rattle to the left of the driver's seat while moving.

Default loads of the same problems

334 vin..

Rattle.. or buzz left front dash...

After flexing over a onramp got a cracle and the pass visor started rattling.. opened and swept out then closed.. stopped.

Raised rust mark on inner left rear rim.. will have dealership check it out.

drivers seat clunks when shifting around ... clueless on how to fix that...

minor rattles in rear when going over aggresive bumps..

bose is sounding a little better but not great.

Love the car though... will live with the minor probs.

Just deal with the seatbelt rattle... the car is full of plastic anyhow.

What I'm wondering is this squeak that sounds like a chirp sound whenever I hit a bump.

Default Please keep this thread going!!!

I think this is a valuable thread. It gives owners things to keep an eye on, or to check out. Before getting my 350Z, I knew exactly what the passenger door rattle was (seatbelt) - no telling how long it would have taken me to track down. After reading about window streaks, I checked mine (none). As for the rest of your list, I have not noticed the rattles, etc., EXCEPT for:

4 - Orange peel - but replied earlier, so I'm already on your list.
7 - Water in the door jam - yes
10 - Headlight condensation - yes, but disappeared fairly quickly.
12 - Rocks hitting wheel wells - YES!!! On my first road trip it sounded as if I was going to have 1000's of paint dings, and cringed as I heard each one hit. (Only ended up with one in front of the headlight).

No NAV or upgraded BOSE.

Again, please keep this thread going. Although it could give ammunition to non-Z owners ("jeez, what a POS"), I think it is useful to 350 owners. Most of the complaints (except orange peel) are probably minor, just annoying.

I'm also experiencing the passenger seat-belt "rattle", but that usually only happens after I have reclined the passenger seat forward to access the glove compartment. It doesn't seem to rattle all the time, only "rattles" on occasion after I do the aforementioned.

After about 900 miles of driving, my Dome Light is now out and it doesn't seem to be a fuse problem, for I couldn't find a fuse connected to it in the fuse box. Took the car to Huntington Beach Nissan this Saturday but the technicians were clueless, saying the car was too new and to bring it back next week after they do some research.

I have washed my car at least 2-3 times per week. I noticed that the water hides in the crevices from:
1. door handles
2. Z emblem
3. mirrors (obvious)
4. turn lens on rear bumper
5. rear light.
I use one of those air can dusters.

Good thread. I didn't even realize I had some of these problems. In order of most annoying:
1. Vent fresh/recirc seems to have a mind of it's own. I can't set it to fan on, with recirc only, no ac. Every time I hit recirc, the AC comes on. I turn off AC and the vent switches to fresh. Is something wrong? I didn't notice anyone else complaining about this.
2. Window streak on the inside. I keep it spotless, but almost never roll down the windows due to the streak.
3. 1-2 shift sometimes.
4. When accelerating in 3rd, I sometimes notice it "toots". I remember a post about this.

I agree with the smears, the water on kickplate, pebble noise, but also add a very subtle high pitched noise in the cabin when car running, radio off. Non upgrade radio with snowy reception.

I found this a while back....

5) Passenger Seat Belt Clips: When the passenger seat is unoccupied, you may hear a seat belt rattle. Use the seat belt clip located near the B-pillar to keep the seat belt in place, thus eliminating the noise

Default one new problem...

my rear view mirror (has the homelink sys) rattles/buzzes as if something is loose...haven't read a problem concerning that, am i the only one...i have the buzzing from the passenger side and i am pretty sure it comes from the cup holder. had a passenger listen for it and we think it's coming from the cup holder...

another new thing...the plastic right behind the doors (where the seat belts stays when you take it off) scratches easily from when you take off your selt belt and it kind flings back there...check it out, bet there's lots of little scratches caused by the seatbelt being released back to its place...

Default Too Many Problems?

Do you guys think there are too many problems with the new Z?
I seem to remember very few problems with my 1990 300ZX TT (first model year). But then again, I didn't have a Z forum with thousands of owners...

Default they are problems...

but nothing that all new model year cars don't experience...i'm just happy that these problems are minor rattles, buzz, etc...i hope nissan will fix these problems under warranty and that dealers won't give us a hard time when we ask for these fixes...you never know with dealers, i have such low expectations from them when it comes to them fixing our cars, just can't trust them especially after what happened to internetabyss (even though that's a rare case)....

Check out page 4-4 of the owners manual. Here is an excerpt:

When the air recirculation
mode is selected with the A/C indicator off while
the fan control dial is in the AUTO position, the
air conditioner will turn on.

Default comprehensivre problem list

Hey everybody:

I just bought my Z today and I LOVE it but the brakes squeak somewhat loudly when I press the pedal past a certain point. Has anyone experienced any similar problems? BTW, I've got the Track model... It doesn't seem right (the car had 14 miles when I left the lot...). Man, I didn't anticipate bringing her in so soon...

Unhappy Same problem with the high pitch buzz!

Got my car last night, and when I turn on the radio by itself (without starting the engine), it is fine. But if I start the engine, there is this faint high pitch wheezing in the cabin. I have the touring with the boss! I wonder if this has something to do with circuitry! Oh, and of course the boss has bass like there is no tomorrow!

turn the radio off. Notice that the sound is still there. This noise is coming from the fuel pump. I looked for it because it was bugging me, and this turned out to be the source.

(sounds like a high pitched faint eeeeeeeeeeeeee)
