Default 350Z Base?

I mostly lurk, and occassionally post a message or two, but I think I see a trend.

I am getting the base model with no adds at msrp, but almost all the sig blocks I see are not base models.

Is anyone else on here getting a base?

Does anyone remember the link to the polling page regarding what everyone ordered?

Thanks,
MBEGuy

Yes MBEGuy, there are a few of us base-orderers out there, although I did add the aero package. I'm curious what the official base-model percentage preordered is. I seem to remember on Brackethead's survey, it was significantly in the minority.

The one thing I wish I was getting with the base is.. are you ready? Those killer aluminum pedals!! Viscous LSD? Traction control? Nav system? Yeah, whatever. But man, I really want those pedals. Anyone know if it's possible to change my frumpy base model pedals for the aluminums? I guess we won't know until someone can shove their head down in the floorboards and look, huh?

Dammit, one more thing I'll have to wait to find out about!

Dave

Dude, the limited slip alone was worth the upgrade to enthusiast. This is coming from a guy who had a mustang with an open diff, always spinnin one wheel till I had it upgraded. And that was with HALF the power!!! Oh, and the HID lights are tiiiight too...

Actually what is funny is that although the LSD & HIDs led me to the enthusiast, the CRUISE CONTROL swayed my final vote, go figure.

From zcar.com a while back, this one's a little more representative of all orders (not just us fanatics):

I got a base model for 4 thousand under the price of an enthusiest and i am ordering a used stock lsd and replaced the bulbs the fact was a much lower payment and putting like 300 bucks into it to make it the enthusiest caliber the pedals can be found on strictly z for 69 bucks cheap upgrade and you can get the real hids from any performance shop for like 400 bucks if you need the real thing if not the HID style bulbs do the trick they still get the ladies!!!!

Get the base . The stock LSD is lousy ! Then with the difference spend the $$$$$$ on what you want , not what they are forcing you to buy ( like a good mechanical LSD ).Cheers !

I have the base model, saving me money for other things I want to do to the car.

I've had both the base and enthusiast models. The enthiusiast is well worth the extra $2K. Cruise, traction control limited slip, mirror, pedals and HID's. Most could be done after market, but driving is more fun than fixing and when you sell you'll still have a base...no matter how many mods you make. If you get any snow, traction control is absolutely necessary.
