Default Another Maintenance thread.. with a twist.

Okay I spent a good 30 mins trying to find maintenance parts from this site and others. I currently have 16.5k miles and I need my 15k maintenance. I have been using Mobil 1 5w30 and Mobil oil filters.
This is my idea. Single quart Mobil 1 sells for $4.99 or more. K&N filters are $44 and up. Are there any vendors or private sellers that would sell us maintenance parts bulk for a good price ? All vendors want to sell the body kits, fi, blah blah blah. What about the guys that want to maintain their cars very well. For instance I buy my Mobil 1 synthetic at Walmart in 5 quart containers, they are a steal for under $20.

Cliff notes: Want to buy maintenance parts, considering bulk buy. (i.e. oil, filters, spark plugs, .....)

I wouldn't trust Walmart to touch my car after I saw what they did to my friends car and the stories I have heard. I am one of those people that has to see it to believe it so the only one I will mention is the one I actually saw.

We were waiting at walmart for my friends car(was getting an oil change) and it was taking a while so we stood there are looked through the window as they were finishing up. They dropped the hood down and it didn't latch. They picked it up and dropped it again and it didn't latch. The third time they picked it up and pushed it down and it latched. We saw them lean over the front bumper and rub the hood. They popped the hood again and took something from under the hood, dropped the hood and it latched. When we got the car back there was a dent coming from under the hood and it was big enough that you could see a crack(that later rusted). It looks like the left something sitting on the battery when they tried to close the hood several times. They denied the whole thing and when my friend wanted to take them to court they got these high priced lawyers and it wasn't worth the court fees. We WATCHED them do it and they denied it.

you mentioned the price for a K & N filter. do you already have one? if you do you don;t replace it just clean and recharge it, otherwise it will get expensive as hell buying a new one all the time. on another note to that it may be good to have two of them, have one up and runing and when that one gets dirty, take it out and recharge it while running the other filter. less downtime.

actually i only buy the oil at walmart. then i let nissan change the oil. total cost, prob $30. I just wanted to know if everyone just got their supplies at pep boys or auto zone or whatever. Seems like they sell everything on this site except maintenance parts: plugs, filters, fluids, etc.

Neither would I, but he didn't say he let them touch his car; he just said he bought his oil there, where they do indeed have the best prices around on oil and filters.

BTW, while the generic orange Fram filters are pretty sorry, and the Tough Guard Fram's are a little bit better, Wal-Mart does sell the top-of-the-line Fram Double Guard filter, which has gotten good results in filter tests (comparable to the Mobil filters). I've used the Double Guards in a G coupe I put 25 miles on, and now on Z (I change my own oil), w/no probs.

Your point is well taken, however, and I can't figure out how many people w/great cars let Wal-Mart service them (my partners let service stations and Wal-Mart work on their Benzes and Porsches ).

performance and courtesy sell maintnence parts. not sure if their prices are low enough to qualify as bulk. but easy to find what you need.

The last time i bought oil was over a year ago. I usually buy at least 20 qts at a time. There are a few websites that sell oil and air filters. I wanted to know if Walmart was the only place my Z brothers/sisters went to buy their maintenance parts?
