Default Unkown Smell !!!

I have searched the threads but have not been able to find one related to the smell I just started to get.
I pulled in the garage last night, got out of the car and thought my wife had dumped something nasty in the trash. Come to find out the smell was coming from my car.
I have 4,800 miles on it so the new care smell is long gone. It doesn’t smell like that rotten egg smell of the cats but somewhat similar. It definitely doesn’t smell like burning rubber or metal. It seems to be coming from the front of the car. I have smelled around the exhaust pipes but I do not smell it there. When I kneel down next to the front wheels is when I smell it the strongest. If it is a break pad smell, it is like one I have never smelled before. Do pop chargers put off a smell when dirty? I only have about 2,500 on the charger so I can’t imagine it needs to be cleaned yet.
Any help would be appreciated.

maybe the pop charger sucked in a frog or something might be dead in there.

if it smells like rotten eggs, then its either the coolant <--i think; or something is dead.

hope that helps.

There was a thread about this a long time ago, it was found that the smell is coming from the exhaust (cats to be specific) burning off something. Very normal with a fairly new car, will die off later.

edit: Sorry just reread your orginal thread, disregard my reply.

If it smells kinda moldy it could be mildew build up in your air conditioner. Humidity seems to aggravate the problem. Maybe running your A/C on fan only for a short while before parking your car for hours will help minimize condensation. Or maybe there is some way to spray some Lysol down there.

I had an ex do this to my motorcycle and Hope this did not happen to you or anyone else. Deer **** (hunting scent found at all the local store's) in the gills of your radiator. A mean method of reveage that you are usally unaware of and very hard to get rid of when found.

Skunk scent down the window seal usally totally undetectable except fot he scent and then you can't get it out and not to sure where its comming from.

Usally more harmless and what I did back to my Ex for the deer **** is ordering a dump truck of mulch or Cow Sh%#$ from your local lanscaping company telling them you live there paying cash for it and have it dumped in the driveway when their not at home. What was she going to do with a dump truck full of SH*^ at a Zero lot Line House? Plus she can't use the garage.

OOHH well just your complaint of a nasty smeel reminded me of the good ole days.

Mine smells like mildew too... it's coming from the A/C. If I keep the recirculation on, it doesn't smell.
