I was wondering how many of you 5/AT really use the manual mode? I find myself using it a lot and I love it too. I am sure there are a lot of people who said cool I'll use that when they first got it, but only did maybe once or so. It was a little hard to get use too it at first. Now I am finding myself in the habit of using the manual mode all the time now.

 

Depends a lot on the traffic and my mood. I would say that I use it (realistically) about 40% of the time. I find that for the other 60% of the time the auto mode shifts crisp and fast enough for the type of daily driving that I do.

 

I'd say it's about 70/30 for me. The main times when I don't use it are in high-traffic areas and in wet weather. I've also found that I use it very rarely in the wintertime...I usually only use it in the winter during snowy weather, when I want to stay in the lowest gear necessary.

 

I use it about 95% of the time.

 

I can say when I hit the highway and go over 55 mph for a long period of time I leave it in D. But most of the time in city drving I use manual or if I am tried or lazy that day. I don't plan on driving it in the snow, I have the Neon for that.

 

I use the Manual Mode a lot less than I thought I would. Maybe 10 percent of the time when I'm really bored on the rode. It's a nice option to have on the car though.

 

I don't use it that often. Sometimes it's fun but I usually just keep it in regular old auto. I'm lazy

 

Hardly ever use it neither does my wife.

anyways, i use the manual mode except for when i am in traffic or tired.

 

I switch back and forth often, it sort of depends on my mood or the traffic conditions. I probably do 60A/40M or 70A/30M total on average. I tend to use manual mode more often when I'm just out to have fun or I'm bored. In bad weather, commuting or for performance (I seem to driver better in auto more consistently than in manual) I usually leave it in auto mode and pop over to manual just when I need to or feel like it.

 

I use the manual mode quite a bit, but in SoCal traffic it is sooooo nice not to have to battle the clutch and just throw it in "D"

I have always owned MT sports cars and I could give a hoot if any 6MT flamed us on this thread....I have fun with the 5AT and I bet others here can give me an AMEN on that!

 

i use the manual mode on my rx-8 alot, gets the rpms higher... slightly quicker..

 

all the time. except when a couple times, just after I got a speeding ticket and the cop decided to follow me for 10 miles. I swithced back to D and put mon my cruise control.

i use it 3% of the time.

 

I never used mine, maybe its because I never learned how to drive a stick.
