Default I always had the problem with the gas tank not filling up but now...

I have always had the problem where my gauge shows that I only fill up a little more than 3/4 of a tank. But with about the last 5 tanks of gas I have been getting a full tank. I still dont know what happened and why it just got fixed. I havent changed gas stations and actually went to a different station last night. I even get about a little more than a gallon of gas per fill up also.

do you fill your gas more slowly that before? I read that the tank is sorta split in half or something, so that it takes time to fill each portion of the tank. Thus if the filling rate is too rapid, one side gets full and you think the tank is full, but in reality the fuel hasn't evened out on both sides of the tank or something like that.

OH SOMEONE help me correct this info.

must have had some type of vapor lock (air bubble) in the tank that caused the tank to not be fillable. Maybe your car burped and now you can fill a full tank.

today i had about a little under half a tank and decided to fill it up (hurricane ivan is coming and i don't want to deal with the traffic afterwards). Anyway, i put about $11 and it stopped, i was like, mmkay, i usually turn the car off and leave the ignition in the ON position to see where my gas needle is at, it was only about 3/4 of the way. So pressed the handle all the way, and it stopped immediately (like if it was full). I pressed it again twice, did it again. The third time, i pressed it slowly and not all the way, and the tank filled (all the way above the full line).

I think that was nissans reason. something about a new saddlebag design stradling the drive shaft or something.

anyway, I find it wierd that we seem to all get the same problems around the same time; and they go away too. notice so many people saying "I just had that happen" ect. maybe the weathers getting cooler and that has something to do with it? I havent had the problem recently, but I did before, about a year ago alot.

It is strange...the last two times I've fueled up no problem...before that it was usually an annoying adventure.
