Question Rear toe angle for 04 Z?

Does anyone know what the rear toe angle is for a 2004 Z?

I'm looking for the actual rear toe angle, *not* the total toe in (mm). I believe this does exist....

My current rear toe in angles are:

left 0.13 deg
right 0.12 deg

-service manual doesn't have it
-alignment people have no clue
-search on posts on this site have nothing

Thanks everyone!!

Check out my post in the suspension section...

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=91728

In it you'll see the Min., Nominal, and Max provided to me on my alignment sheet by my friendly local dealership.

You may also notice I'm not 100% thrilled with the alignment, so take the settings with a grain of salt.

Howdy,
Well, as far as I know Toe is always expressed in MM, not in degrees. I'm not sure why that is since toe and camber are the same measurement of different planes, but I'm guessing if you're asking for toe in degrees, the responses will be minimal.
To further confuse the issue, I recently had my car aligned (at Ferrari because my lowered car won't fit on Nissan's rack!). Nissan provided them with the specs though. My car was built in 11/03.

According to my printout, the spec is 2.4mm and the tolerance is 1mm, meaning that the you're 'aligned' if you're anywhere between 1.4 and 3.4 degrees of toe. Sorry I can't give you the spec in degrees. Curious, where did you get the numbers you quoted from?

Interesting but your print out shows the rear toe specs in mm. The print out I received shows the rear toe in degrees....hmmmm..

Thanks.

My numbers are from my alignment which only provided the rear toe in degree form, not distance (mm). Also, its weird but they display the total rear toe in degree form (0.25 deg) as well. That doesnt seem to make sense at all.

The service manual provides the spec for total toe in distance but nothing in degrees....

I'm beginning to wonder if there is some type of "toggle" switch on the align. machine to change the units from degrees to distance. Or maybe his machine is really old?

Anyways thanks !

Uhh...no. The length of a .125 degree arc measured 6" from center is COMPLETELY different than the length of a .125 degree arc measured 3 feet from center, so there is no way to make an accurate conversion unless you know the radius you area dealing with. Remember that the lines extending from a center point get farther apart the bigger the circle is, so while the degree measurement of the arc doesn't change as the radius increases, the distance along the arc itself (or the tangent of the circle, if you choose to measure it that way) does.

I'm curious what alignment machine (brand) do you use at your shop? Also, is this a private business or a Nissan "in house" shop.

Thanks.

It's a Hunter DSP400, and we are a private facility not a dealer.

great, last question then I'll stop bothering you :-) .

Does your model (Hunter DSP400) have the 2004 350z specs in its computers?

I went to a Wheel Works and they were using the specs of a a '96 300zx which is a completely different, obviously.

Do you have any insight to how often the software is updated with new models? or does it vary....

Thx again.

The specs. are for a 2003 350z. the software may have been undated recently to show 2004 but I haven't checked on this car.

The 2003 and 2004 specs. are the same.

The software updates do vary from brand to brand and to tell ya the truth offhand, I'm not sure how often ours is updated.

Hope this helps and it is no bother
