Default Jacking the car

Yes I did a search and read tons of threads on how to jack the car up but I still don't understand because my brain is the size of a peanut. I have jacked the car up using the little cut outs but last time I bent them so I ordered so JC Whitney blocks. Can someone show me in this photo where the front cross member is so I know where to place my jack.

I believe it's in the yellow circle, but my jack couldn't get to that spot due to the plastic cover. I just use ramps now...

what kind of ramps do you use. i tried using a set of ramps my friend had but my car would not make it up them without the front bumper hitting them. i dont know if it would make that much of a difference but i have the hotckies springs that are like .6 inch drop.

Rhino Ramps here. You could use some stacked 2x4's (or 2x6's better yet) to serve as ramps if your drop is too low for other alternatives...

Is that red dot for the front jacking point on the plastic part or on the metal U shaped piece shown in my photo?

Cool, thanks allot! I guess the transmission will ok? Oh and BTW I have heard good things about the Rhino Ramps. You can pick them up at Pep Boys for about $20.

Thanks for the compliment. I haven't bought the ramps yet but I think other people on this board have used them without any problems. Of course if you have your car lower than stock clearance they probably won't work very well.

rhino ramp fits, but barely. If I remember correctly, it was about 10mm clearance (from the slant) before I drove up it.

So is where I circled on my reply the jack spot?....

Thanks for the info about the ramps. spydr said the plastic part under the car is not the proper jacking point. He said to use the metal U piece that is under the transmission.
