Default Question on dealer negotiation...

I am planning on making an offer today.

Trick is my credit union offered me 4.45% but only up to wholsale!

So I have to cover TTL and any amount over invoice.

I have 2500 cash to put down.

Found a Blue Enthusiast 6spd, Edmunds and KBB show invoice at 27212.

So the most I can pay out the door is 27212 + 2500 = 29712.

In TX, does this sound like something the dealer will accept?

He'd better if he wants to sell it hehe.

But whats is the best way to negotiate? Should I try and focus on the OTD price or should I try and negotiate on the vehicle price (I believe 27700 or so should put me at around my limit).

4.45%? Do you think it's possible Nissan will give you a better deal? I got 3.9%.. but that was also 3 months ago.

And I know around me, some dealers will not negotiate OTD price... cause they'll always try to scew you with the $199 documentation fee...

"Look, I'm buying a $30,000 car, I'm not paying $200 bucks for you to write it up... it's a deal breaker"... and they budge.

Trying to get it for $500 over in voice might be hard, but not impossible. Good luck!

Well, I may try to finance through them, but I am not certain if I can a better rate. Plus I am not sure if I trust a dealers finance numbers.

But I would like to finance it as a whole, so I dont have to put down any, or at least as much. So I will probably give it a shot after I negotiate.

The reason I wanted to negotiate OTD is because of the financing terms I have now. I cannot pay more than 2500 over invoice OTD (well maybe a tiiiny bit, but I wont tell them that).

I actually had talked to them already, and I had gotten them down to 28212 on the car, but that was also counting trade in, and the manager was very unhappy offering me as much as he was on trade in. So now that I have sold my old car, and no trade in haggling, I figure I can get him down a few hundred more.

Man I am soo excited. Its Daytona Blue... so purdy....

Oh and don't forget that if you are a recent college grad (2 years), you might be able to get $500 extra off... and that's after the final negotiated price b/c that's $500 from Nissan, not the dealership.

no, its been over 2 years unfortunatly... not much over two.. maybe 2.5, but nope. Plus you have to finance thru Nissan to get it.

Thanks for the heads up though!!

My sister in law could have gotten that deal but did not want to finance thru Nissan so she missed out...
