valentine 1 installed in mirror
For owners in or around Westchester County, NY and Fairfield County, CT, I just found a place that can custom install a V1 out of sight but the display etched in the rear view mirror. The name is Auto Sound in Greenwich, CT [203-661-0234]. I've seen it and it is fantastic. I have scheduled to have it done. You can see it at autosoundltd.com:icon04.

What do you mean by
Do you have any pictures? Is this merely mounting the remote display in next to the mirror? How is the main unit mounted?
Do you have any more details?????

That is beautiful, and I could care less about the mobility, I am more interested in not being seen by the po-po's. Where do you think the detectors are actually installed? In the grille? I could see possibly doing all of that, but I would be worried about putting the detectors some place where they wouldn't be as effective.

I suggest you call AutoSound and mention you saw this on this forum. They also install a laser blocker in the front grill- hidden of course. I was quoted $1,500 for the total installation using my original V1. It takes one day.

That IS pretty cool but also kind of pricey. Also, isn't the purpose of the remote unit to prevent others outside your car from seeing it? I would think that the rearview is DEFINITELY visible from the rear by others (including the "Po-Po's"). Finally, if they did mount the actual detector in the grill, it is much hess effective and you lose your rear detection ability (unless they rip your V-1 in half somehow and mount both a front and rear detector). Again, this decreases it's efectiveness. I'd like to send this pic to V-1 and get their opinion on it.

looks like they etched out a little circle which could be either the radar sensor or laser sensor...
i wonder is that is the rear sensor, and the front sensor is on the back of the mirror?

Looks Good
I too am impressed. I am eager to here the details of the install and the placement of the sensors. As for the display , I am sure it could be placed in that empty Nav compartement to prevent those behind you from seeing it. I think overall performance and sensor placement as the critical issues as these guys obviously know how to make an install look good.

Guys, unless I completely misunderstood, I think that what you see in the mirror IS the display. I thought he meant that the actual detectors are remotely installed and what you see is just the light setup to tell you about any detected signals. Which also brings to mind the beeping sounds it makes. Does it still make those?

OK, its extremly cool, and looks great. But id rather keep my $1,500. Who cares if the cops see it. Mobility doesnt bother me eaither, but that price does
