Default wheel size which is better?

I have a quick question ^^

I'm thinking of buying new rims for my baby Z .

Do you guys think slapping in 19s would be kind of big? I know 19's on Z isn't too big and in often cases it looks nice. But as performance wise wouldn't it be kinda bad?

I just dont find it attractive to have big rims on the car such as 20s and all you see is their wheels, not the car.

I'm thinking of either 18s or 19s . Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

17 Less Bling, but nicer on your butt
18 Best all around
19 More bling, more pain
20 Bling Bling , even more pain, and higher chance of finding blocks under your car.

I personally like 25" rims on my Z

BLING!

no seriously I think 18's are the best compromise

besides with the 19's and 20's how can you burn any rubber if you don't have any?

Side note, whenever I see an SUV or pickup with huge chrome wheels and maybe 2 inches of tread, you can't help but laugh.

The worst I saw was an el camino with tires that had to be no more than 12 inches wide. To top that off, they were also sticking out about a foot from the car. They were like go cart wheels or something. Now if that doesn't have you going, it was ALSO lifted about a foot!

Default wheel size

Somebody on the site had a set of 20" Axis Mod 7's for sale. I think he was asking $1,000 for the set? Great looking wheel on the Z. I'd probably go with 18's if you're into performance. If you're all about looks, and aren't going to lower your ride-height, the larger rims will "fill the wheel wells". Happy shopping!

I got 19's about 2 months ago. I love them. If you go with that size i would stay away from straight chrome, too much shine. I got a nice hyper black mag wheel. upside is it looks sweet. but the downside is that it really is all about the visual. i do believe with the extra weight i lost some handling performance. not terriblly but enough so that if i were into racing this car i would be pissed.

overall visually the difference between 18's and 19's to me is so small, barely noticeable, that i would advise you to go 18's. if i had to do it all over again i would get everything the same, rim and tire, but would probably go 18's. bottom line on that is its even a little cheaper. money for other mods. good luck.

I went 18's. the smaller sidewall on the 19s does look better... but for performance and comfort; a little sidewall flex can really help increase the warning before you lose traction.

our club did a dyno day about 2 months ago, People with stock 17 and 18" wheels were putting down more HP than slightly modified cars with 19's and one member with borla, pop charger, plenum, on 20 axis mod 7's

keep in mind while tire weight does factor into dyno readings; its only half the total effect. same amount goes for the fronts too if they were spinning.

i've always thought 18s are the best choice. you can normally get away with 19s without it looking too big but 18s are a all around great size. not too much weight and a fairly comfortable ride and still fills in the gap rather well
